Easy to understand the routes and get around through the city. Best used with a travel pass ( several types availble).

Very easy system to use if you have a map. From March 2018, you can only pay on card no cash. Then just follow instructions

Reasonably, priced and very easy to use, the tram made our visit to Amsterdam super easy. We bought 48 hour tickets from our concierge but could have bought them from the conductor. Just remember to swipe the card both when getting on and getting off! Oh, and we jumped on the wrong tram once but Google maps helped us figure out how to correct course.

Trams are the lifeblood in a city where everyone relies on either bicycles or public transport. If you are going to be wandering around the city for any length of time, buy a ticket for 48 or 72 hours - it is MUCH cheaper and you then have unlimited travel during that time slot.
