The Rembrandt Square hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the nightlife scene of Amsterdam. There are plenty of cafes, bars, pubs and nightclubs right below the hotel and hence is a great place for young people. Its a good, basic hotel and we were made to feel welcome as soon as we checked in. The only issue here is it does not have a lift but they do have a great little luggage room where you can leave all your heavy bags and carry only the lighter ones upstairs. The shared bathrooms were very clean and so were the rooms. We totally enjoyed our 3 days stay here as its in a great location with proximity to tram stations and buses as well. Would definitely stay here again . Great hospitality by the staff too !

I stayed here with 5 of my work colleagues all nurses for the first time in Amsterdam. We were all made welcome by the staff. Rooms were clean. Beds comfy shared facilities not a problem and very clean. I was in room 21 a twin overlooking Rembrandt Square. Noisy in the evening but we did not mind as we had gone for some fun. Great view.if you have restricted mobility the stairs will be a problem. Ask for first floor as there are 5 floors in total and the top floor is a killer to get to. Will definitely go back. Brekky included next door continental and fine. Great value for money.

Close to cafe's, restaurants, shopping, and thankfully bus and tram stops.
Room had comfortable beds and shared bathroom was very clean! Stairs were a little difficult(steep) to carry large backpacks while the walls and railings were being repainted.
Breakfast was nice to have while on a budget trip but I really only remember toast and cereal being offered at the time.
Staff were all very nice and helpful.
They allowed us to keep our bags in a locked room after we checked out so we were able to do a little more touring with out the bags before moving on to the next city.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to backpackers and those who like touring and nightlife!

Room tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, lower floor has better wifi signal

stayed for 3 nights with my teenager. great location - all walking distance and the tram is just across the square. I don't mind sharing a bathroom - facilities were always immaculately clean.
Breakfast was good. It's not a 5 star - but it was super reasonable.
One tip: when booking ask to have a room facing the back - unless you like to hear loud commotion all night long. Rembrandt square is a very busy area

Room tip: rooms to the back are much quieter and no AC

service, attitude, clean and definetly worth it!

one to use as an example:
We booked a taxi from the front desk for our departure time, how ever, the taxi didn't show up, meaning we had to get another one, wich the older man in the front desk called for, and waited for, with us, outside, wich is fantastic service, since dutch taxidrivers are a pushy bunch, and does absolutely not take a no for an answer

Allways helpful front office staff, 24 hrs operated, wich is one reason we stayed there. Security roomwise was good, how ever, remember your valubles when your in the bathoom, there's no guarantee that the guests dont run away with stuff. But security is good, electronic locks and cameras in the room corridors, really liked it, definatly a place to return to!

Room tip: partying in amsterdam, doesn't matter. staying longer? Ask for a room on the oposite side of the hotel
