Owner description: Tucked away just off Spui, this delightful collection of houses arranged around an open court is well worth searching out.

Its a little hard to find the entrance to this little area. Once inside, you'll notice that people actually living here and taking pictures are not recommended. The oldest house in Amsterdam is the one with the little black door. Spend few minutes here to appreciate the history and move on.

You will find the calmness and peace in this place which is made up of a large garden surrounded by small historical houses and a church. If you are in Brugge go there and spend half an hour, then when you go out the second door of the yard you will find another beauty, "Minnewater Lake".

Pleasant quiet courtyard and church to visit. Old properties which were and still are for women only. A lovely spot right in the centre of Amsterdam. No photography allowed. Make sure you visit the chapel.

It was on my list of things to see in Amsterdam, but it's basically just a "pretty courtyard" surrouded by apartments, and including a pretty church/chapel.

This little square was described as bewitching by our guide book, which is perhaps why we were disappointed. Not very quiet (lots of tourists), little to see, not very much atmosphere. Popped in and out very quickly. Lots of other things to do in the city if short of time.
