Stayed with friends while visiting the city, the hotel is in a great location in the city and in a very pretty area also. Rooms were both clean and tidy so you cannot complain.

- Hotel communal areas and check in need refurbishment although rooms were both spot on
- beds are very comfortable but not very wide
- lock on the bathroom didn't work
- beds remade and towels swapped but no top up on tea and coffee
- unable to issue more than 1 room key in a room for 4 people
- wifi not included with the hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights in early July of 2017. The location is great. It was a 5-10 minute walk to see the major museums like Van Gogh. We walked everywhere in Amsterdam and were able to reach the downtown in less than 30 minutes.
The hotel itself was a good price, but you get what you pay for. There is no air conditioning. We were lucky that we were there during a cool spell. It has a teapot with 4 glasses (not cups) and some teas. The problem was that our glasses were dirty and had not been washed after the previous occupant. The lovely balcony we had was full of cigarette butts, used ganja, and beer cans. The bathroom ceiling was covered in mold. In front of the bathroom door was a hole in the floor. The only thing preventing us from putting our foot through the floor was the carpet. The stairs to the 2nd level were very steep and curved, so its not a good fit for older people or young kids.
On the plus side, there was a decent breakfast. They were happy to make some fresh scrambled eggs on top of the cold cuts, breads, cereals, and fruits. It was the first time we tried a "wild peach," but it wasn't the last. We picked them up at the markets ever day.
If the owners put a little money back into the property to replace worn floor coverings, mold management, and better cleaning services, it could be a very nice place.

Hotel was dirty (full of dust) with aging decor full of holes. Mice traps in the room was extra special. Family ages ranging from 4-80 spread over three rooms over different floors and buildings making it quiet difficult. 80 year old struggled up steep staircase which staff did not care about. No help with bags, up that staircase. My God was a struggle. No lift. 4 year old in a room that did lock from inside and could have exited during night and fallen down steep staircase. Bathroom smelt due to limited ventilation. One day our room was left unlocked after room service, lucky nothing stolen. Safe jammed and unusable, needed to ask for coffee and towel replacements. All in all would never recommend. Very disappointed due to paying so much

Most importantly this hotel is in an excellent location and the rooms are clean! The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Spread over three buildings, the communal area’s of the hotel are in need of decorating and a refurb however the bedrooms have been refreshed and slightly modernised on a budget. As others have pointed out the stairs are very steep and not very wide, so if are unsteady on your feet this may be a problem. Our main problem was noise. With large groups staying at the hotel coaches were arriving very early in the morning with engines running and parking issues. What sounded like hoards of guests leaving their rooms banging doors chatting and laughing from 6am each morning hanging around in the hallway. Others or, the same group of guests were outside the hotel till 3am partying, with no double-glazing or heavy-duty doors this was a problem with no staff quietening people down. The rooms are provided with three hangers, kettle, tea and coffee, shampoo, body wash and conditioners. There was one mirror with poor light apart from in the bathroom. There is a lack of places to hang towels, clothes and coats with three of us sharing a room. We were offered breakfast at €7.50 if we pre-booked or €9.50 on spec. The dining area is in the same area as the reception and is quite dark so we decided to eat each day at the wonderful café opposite, which was amazing and highly recommend.
The hotel is a 10-minute easy walk to the Museums and a 20 minute walk to a multitude of restaurants, bars and nightlife.
We paid £200 per room per night for three sharing, I’m not sure how this compares with other hotels in the area but I feel for the money charged it is poor value. The best thing about the hotel was the location.

Our room was on the 4th floor which meant 4 very steep flights of stairs. No bathroom just a shared toilet and shower on the landing. Pillowcases had black marks on and we even had 2 rat traps under the radiator in our room.
Room was small, but we did have a balcony, nowhere to sit out there though.
No the cheapest place I've stayed but definitely the worst. Carpet on the stairs dirty, wore and ripped, banisters were very wore. All in all a place to avoid.
