“Got a good rate on-line for 2 Adults and 2 kids”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2012

Managed to squeeze 2 adults and 3 kids into one room (one on the floor as usual on duvet).
No mainstream hotels can generaly sleep 5 in one room.
Good breakfast (for 5) and close to the number 4 tram to the city centre.
Youth hostels have free wi-fi in their rooms (I'm in one right now in Latvia writing this review) so you think the Holiday Inn could, rather than just reception.
Parking could be cheaper, but for the good rate we got on-line, we couldn't complain.

Room Tip: Managed to squeeze 3 kids in with 2 adults. (on one the floor)

Booked this hotel because it was a little out of the city centre and on the end of a very convenient tram line into town (the number 4 which starts from a three minute walk from the hotel). Although my husband is a platinum member we didn't get onto either the priority club floor or either of the exec floors due to a lack of a room with two double beds.. At a weekend?)

That said the hotel was up to the standard expected of a HI, room was pleasant, food was good and the staff were excellent. Given that often the difference between a good and a bad stay is the staff then this is the right balance and we fully enjoyed our stay.

[as a platinum member my husband received free wireless codes for the 3 nights and two free drink tokens.. A very pleasant surprise]

Stay one or two night when on business, it is fine for that purpose, I guess.
Crazy charges for parking, breakfast is too expensive as well.
Room ok'ish, bathroom renovated, but unlovingly so.
Distinctly average.

Room Tip: away from the elevators if possible!

I specifically chose this hotel, having grown up in the neighborhood, thinking that it would offer good parking space, since it's in the suburbs. Alas, they only offer paid parking so we parked a block away (for free).

Then the room. I booked a room for 2 adults + 2 kids. You would think they would give a larger room, but it was very small and the two beds were not 2 regular double beds but 2 beds that were 1.5 single beds. Way too small.

And then internet. WiFi isn't even available in the rooms. Only ethernet, but who needs that with an iPad. And even so, in the lobby and main areas the rates were outrages: 8,50 /hour or 22/day.

I will definitely not return there.

The hotel is well locatd in quiet area, at less than a minute walking from the metro, train & Tram station & Easily accessible by the night bus so you would save good money instead of the expensive taxis.

Reception people are friendly, express checkin and checkout, very smooth procedures. Room size is good, clean and comfortable however TV signal is not so good. Housekeeping service is good, the supervisor asked if I am satisfied by the service which i found it a very good approach. I asked for an Iron & Iron board and get it in few minute and was able to keep during my all stay.
Buffet breakfast is good with many cold and hot dishes, you would start your day with a good meal but not ith a smile as staff is not very welcoming.

I would have rated 5/5 but due to the unavailability of Wifi in the rooms and the breakfast service i would put 4
In general i am happy with the product and i would come again.
