I have been there for a couple of nights business in October 2011
The Hotel is nice and rooms are clean and spacious.
Unfortunately is a bit far from the centre of town, there is not mauch to do in the sorroundings
Tram/bus was not working at night and taxy can take ages to arrive at the hotel to pick you up.
Internet in the room is very expensive

It gives us great pleasure to read that you experienced our hotel rooms to be clean and spacious. The Hilton Amsterdam is located in a high-end residential area between the crowded city centre and the World Trade Centre.

I would like to inform you that the Van Gogh museum, the Stedelijk museum and Rijksmuseum are within walking distance of the Hilton Amsterdam. In addition, I would like to inform you that there is a night bus transfer available at Apollolaan which is a 5 minute walk.

Furthermore, Hilton Amsterdam will offer free WiFi in all public areas as of February.

Hilton Hotels are sometimes difficult to judge: some are purely business-oriented, this is providing very high standards. The room was very good, the service also. I was there on an annual conference with a big group, and the Hotel reached its limits: Only two small elevators, but no stairs is not enough, if 200 people leave at the same time a presentation. Two aspects were strange: before the first presentation we had a hotel manager informing the group for full five minutes on fire escapes. Is this dutch law? Secondly, the bar closes at 1am. Well we arrived 10 minutes too late and couldn't persuade the stubborn bartender to hand out a last drink. As this closing hour is not dutch law, I was somewhat astonished that the Hotel couldn't be more flexible with a customer group, which easily spend €100.000 on the stay. Still, i enjoyed the stay.

Like: room decoration, view, concierge service
Dislike: location, note that you need the tram to get anywhere. 5 min walking distance to tram stop.

We came from the Airport by train. It's all straight from the train station, easy to find. However, it's like a 30 minute walk.

We appreciate your kind comments regarding our hotel rooms, the view and concierge service. Our hotelrooms are indeed beautifully decorated. We have renovated our hotel rooms in 2008 with new and modern equipment. We changed our televisions in February and in the future there will be another internet service.

I would like to inform you that the Hilton Amsterdam is easy accessible by tram 5 from train station Amsterdam Zuid. The tram stop is only a 5 minute walk to the hotel.

Despite sixties office block appearance, Hilton Amsterdam is a very smart hotel inside.

Positives:
-Well equipped rooms
- Great views over canal
- Excellent restaurant
- Excellent service

Negatives:
-Long way from city centre. Good location for business park but not good if you're a tourist
- Wifi and Internet didn't work properly my first night, also very expensive per hour
- Air conditioning noisey (I had to switch off at night), also didn't seem to warm up my room no matter how high I set the temperature

The Hilton Amsterdam is located in a high-end residential area between the crowded city centre and the World Trade Centre. It's a good hotel a little bit outside downtown (about 10 tram stations from the Main Station). Like every luxury chain hotel, everything that you need you have to pay. There is no complimentary WiFi, breakfast, etc.
For the 170 dollars + tax that I paid per night, I was expecting a little more.
The staff is very friendly.
