Why is so dirty garbage everywhere around station and city. All these people you have pilled up on one on top of another in the small country. You can employ more to clean please. I saw 1 man getting gabage with truck and blasting music leaving half there
We passed through this big busy train station many times. The Netherlands is famous for excellent public transport, so there are trains everywhere. In Amsterdam they arrive at this big station, which can be very crowded and chaotic. Many of the city trams come here. It is not pretty, but it functions well and is essential.
We didn't know what to expect. It was very clean. The staff were friendly. It's what you want and need when you're a tourist.
Train station is very clean and a nice building. Only thing I would suggest to anyone wanting a taxi is to book a uber instead of using a taxi outside the station as you will pay 3 times more . Use a uber where possible .
The building outside is lovely architecturally and inside has lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. We were however travelling on the Eurostar and after having taken 45 minutes to get through security and passport control the waiting room for the train, was cramp, with very few seats and no coffee or food available, a great disappointment.
