This was my first time in Amsterdam and it was fantastic the hotel was clean, fresh and friendly the complimentary shower gel shampoo and cream smelt fantastic! The staff here went the extra mile for us giving plenty of advice and even checking us in early and had the best coffee in the sticky fingers patisserie located in the ground floor of the hotel the trams were very easy and cosy efficient to use you can't go wrong here!

What was a great lads holiday to Amsterdam was ruined by this hotel charging us £132 for damages not done by us (without our permission). Taking advantage of our age. With many opportunities to notify us of the damage we had supposedly done, but decided to wait until we left the country. We disputed the situation and finally were awarded back the money after a long and tiring dispute with the hotel. Safe to say we will be returning to Amsterdam but definitely will not be returning to this hotel.

After noticing the damage, the Front of House manager waited for you to explain this personally (we prefer it that way) but somehow that didn't work out unfortunately. Obviously, we've made a mistake and we solved it after talking to you. We hope you can forgive us, and we wish you a very nice next time in Amsterdam!

Nice room, clean, cool & really comfortable bed. The staff were always helpful & happy to advise when approached. Unlike Irish hotels, there was a feeling of being an independent traveller at this hotel. The tone was set with minimum assistance at check-in and independent check out plus, pwith the option of paying for meals separately, I felt like we were renting a nice room independently & we tended to dine away from the hotel. We enjoyed a night cap in the bar each night and tips from the bar staff on activities for the day ahead. The availability to store our luggage for a few hours on the day of check out was much appreciated.

This is definitely the kind of hotel one would visit if one does not mind the basic amenities supplied at a hotel.

For me and my partner - this hotel was good as we are out all of the day and all we want is a comfy hotel to resort to! But if you are looking for a hotel with a kettle, a supply of coffee and the usual hotel supplies then this hotel is not for you.

The location is beside the Vondlepark, but it is real easy to get to. I assume most people would arrive to Amsterdam through Centraal station. So, take the number one train and volia, you will arrive closely to the hotel. Either get off at Surnameplein or Rhijnvis Feithstraat. The hotel will be a 3-5 minute walk from either stop.

By choosing this hotel you will get very familiar with using the trams from within the central part of the city! You will get used to waiting for that number 1 tram to take you to Rhijnvis Feithstraat! Which may involve a bit of waiting around where irregular trams come later and later depending on how late you leave Centruum.

Overall, not a bad hotel. Me and my partner only required the minimum of necessities - a comfy bed! Which this hotel will sufficiently supply.

My positives and negatives:
+ The Conscious Hotel chain is an eco-friendly chain. Makes you feel better :)
+ Location is good - close to several Amsterdam highlights and also close to public transport connections connecting you to different parts of town.
+ The below bar/lunchroom/coffee place is really nice.
+ Staff at the hotel was friendly.
+/- Their check-in process with iPads is better than most regular check in processes, but I have seen more intuitive ones (e.g. CitizenM)
- Only when I got home, I was realised I was charged an extra amount for an upgrade I did not ask for. It took me some effort to get the money back. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
- It is a young hotel, a hip hotel ... and sometimes it feels like they're trying to hard. Yet another hotel room wall with quotes about travel and hipster items hanging from the wall ... seen it, been there.

Glad to hear it has been solved. Oh and: no quotes about travelling in our rooms though. Are you sure you were staying at The Tire Station? ;P
