Just got back from 4 days in Amsterdam staying at this hotel. The hotel is in a good location - just out of the centre but for me this was a plus as it was nice to get away from it all at the end of the day/night. It is a two min walk from the metro and takes around 8 mins to get to the central station - so easy! The service was great, room was lovely, all the staff were so so nice! The bed was the best, so comfortable! And make sure you have the breakfast included because this was one of the nicest hotel breakfasts I’ve had. All in all - perfect hotel for our trip!

Hi Abby,

Thank you for sharing your QO experience in those kind words. We are very proud of our community and location because indeed it offers a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle from the city center. I'll make sure to pass your compliments to our team.

Regards,
Marlon

First impressions the QO is beautiful inside, very clean, gorgeous elegant furnishings, added to that very friendly staff and we were made to feel welcome. The room was spotless and hi tech with an iPad controlling the lights, tv, climate control and outside shutters (although these did have a mind of their own and at times shut randomly which made me feel very claustrophobic). We weren’t keen on the open plan washing area, very small and no privacy at all although the toiletries were very nice. The shower head needed descaling badly and there was no plug for the sink so my husband struggled to shave.

The room was a bit stuffy and warm despite being set to 18 degrees and the duvet was too heavy for late summer. The pillows were enormous and far too hard for me.....maybe a pillow menu could be introduced? Could a fan be made available too? The fresh tea and ground coffee was a nice touch if a bit messy, maybe a small coffee machine would have been better as this was meant to be a 5* hotel.

The food was delicious if a little expensive. Breakfast was amazing and set us up for the day all served by the excellent staff who were just lovely.

All in all a good stay but the room needs tweaking to make it more comfortable.

Just two minute walk from Spaklerweg metro station there was no need to use expensive taxis as the Dutch transport system is second to none unlike our third world train service in the UK.

Brilliant trip!

Dear couple,

Thank you very much for your delicate words describing your QO experience. Both the design and technology is there to work for you. The facade as part of our climate control system works in tandem with the warmth/cold providing from our concrete ceilings. This facade can also be manually operated.

We would love to welcome you back during your next visit to Amsterdam.

Groet,
Marlon

Just returned from the QO ...... as mentioned in other reviews when checking in you have to pay a €150 deposit which as we had already paid for our stay in advance was a bit of a shock, otherwise checking in went smoothly.
The room itself was lovely very clean very modern very high tech(which led to problems when we checked out). The IPad controls everything the TV the black out blinds heating etc which is fun and novel. However the sink and shower in our room seemed a bit exposed to us and didn’t offer much privacy
The first night we ate in the hotel and must say the food is delicious if a tad over faffy with edible flowers etc but as I say was delicious on the whole, breakfast the following morning I had the fried egg and what they call crispy piglet again very nice but not quite the full English( yes I know i was in Holland) a sausage wouldn’t have gone amiss.
Downsides if taller than an umpa lumpa don’t sit by the window as you’re bound to bang your head on the low hanging light balls over the tables as myself and 2 others did on our 3day stay and now to the checkout.....we had an early start so checked out last night to save faffing around at 0400 when our alarm went off tried turning the lights on but no joy as we had checked out the hotel had turned our iPad to control everything off so we had to ring down to get them to turn it all back on again. And the bathroom light kept flashing on and off but I’m not sure if that was to do with our having checked but led to quite a disturbed nights sleep.
Overall a good experience but could be better hopefully we will see improvements when we return as we will do in the future

Stayed here last week. Room was lovely, although there is no air con so can be quite stuffy as you can’t open windows either. Slightly irritating that everything is controlled by an iPad, The novelty wears off pretty quickly & becomes quite annoying when it doesn’t work. Please be aware when checking in they will require a deposit which they do not mention at any point during the booking process. They will either take €100 euros cash per day or €50 per day if you use a card. The staff aren’t really that helpful and it’s clear that they do not want poor/working class people in their hotel. The positives are that it’s in a really nice and quiet area of the city that is only 6 stops on the metro from central (about 10 mins). Overall a nice room in a lovely building, but the air of superiority from the staff is just off putting so probably wouldn’t stay here again... reasonably priced though

Lovely hotel, recently opened we understand from talking with taxi driver/s and locals. Can't fault it just what we wanted not to be too close to Amsterdam central, we were able to take the metro into town, great service!
