“Pleasant Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2012

Art and nature in one location. The museum is located a bit from the old town, but in a nice part-like environment. The bulk of the museum is underground, but that does not impact the exhibits or collections.

“Good collection of African art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2011

The museum has good African and Asian art collections. As I haven't been to Africa before, it was a good opportunity to see local art. Especially wood handcrafts from Nigeria and Mali are worth seeing. English translation is available but brief and not for all pieces. Museum garden is beautiful and relaxing as well.

“Nice location, nice exhibitions, but no english”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2011

I have been in this museum already 3 times, unfortunately these people still do not understand that tourists and foreigners need to read some English as well.

Unlike other museums in Zurich this is very conservative and nothing is ever translated in French, English or Italian, I am not going back unless I first learn some German.

“Impressive subterranean architecture”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2011

Rietberg found in the nice Enge district resides in a large park. Most impressively, the museum was built underneath not to spoil the surroundings. It always chooses exotic topics for its exhibitions and it is worthwhile to follow its programs that change several times a year.

“Exciting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2010

I found this museum very striking and exciting. A large collection of nice artwork from all over the world. If you love checking out art from everywhere this is a must see of collections from Africa, the Americas, Oceania and Asia.
There is also a little shop to buy souvenirs on site and a cafe for tea and snacks.
Easy to get to by tram and bus.
