The lunch I had here after a morning of skiing Corviglia falls in that "lifetime experiences" category. It was by far the coolest, most elegant meal I have ever had on top of a mountain after skiing. You just don't find places this luxurious at a ski resort (Beaver Creek, Cortina and Aspen are rivals, but I've seen nothing this good yet). We opted to sit outside and have one of the two-person pod-like seats that face out toward St. Moritz. We were offered a warm blanket and had glasses of champagne in our hands within minutes of ordering. We started with the beef tartare to share, which was an incredible compilation of beautifully browned, buttery crostini, beef, quail eggs and freshly shaved white Alba truffles. We each also enjoyed their soups; French onion and an oxen stew. The meal was absolutely incredible.

The location is superb. Gorgeous mountains, generous sun, all those beautiful people around you.... Dolce vita - you believe you are living it and it carries you away... And they make you pay for it BIG TIME. I wouldn't mind but I would expect quality for all this money. We all had various pasta dishes, they were served within a wink (a bad sign!) and turned out to be pre-cooked and simply warmed up for the occasion. This is not Dolce Vita! Even in a self-service cantina they make a bigger effort. But again, the atmosphere is great and service is friendly. The "smartest" was a couple ordering a bottle of water, making selfies and disappearing after 10 minutes :-) To be fare, there are no reasonable prices for anything in St.Moritz, but once upon a time there used to be quality.

One of St Moritz' popular restaurants in the mountains, close to the end of the WM ski race. You'll know the kind of crowd it draws when you see the Maserati in a glass box standing on the sun terrace.
The food menu has everything this kind of clientele (who I doubt will read reviews on Trip Advisor ) desires from Sushi to Pizza, the nicest and finest meat dishes, add truffles to your risotto... anything your heart desires... at it's price.

I had the red Chicorée Risotto which is excellent but also the more reasonably priced pizza were very tasty.

Make sure to reserve if you want to eat there...

We have been a party of four and were able to book a table on the terrasse on short notice during the planned men's downhill race. Due to the weather conditions, race was cancelled but we spent quite some time on the terrasse enjoying the view, the sun and some specials from the kitchen and the cellar.
Although the prices are a little elevated, the Spaghetti were delicious and well portioned. The waiter was quite fun and he seemed to be very much liked and known by most of the guests.
Might well be that we come back whenever the way leads back to Salastrains in the future.
