Came here after finding out it was the best rated italian restaurant in Lucerne ... Food was average and not worth its price, service was horrible (at one point our waiter was playing with his iphone for 20 minutes). Water was 6 CHF for a tiny tiny bottle (what a tourist trap)!!! Would definitely try to avoid to find somewhere with more of a local flavor

We ate a late lunch/early dinner at this restaurant, which was recommended to us by one of our guides.

The restaurant was almost empty. The service was prompt and friendly, and the menu was extensive, with an abundance of pizzas and pastas available.

We ordered a bottle of wine and split a calzone and the carbonara. The pizza/calzones are made in a brick oven and are delicious. The pasta was equally fabulous. Both arrived at our table very quickly.

On top of the excellent food and wine, the price was very affordable for Lucerne standards. It's definitely worth a visit!

This friendly, efficient Italian restaurant is more than just a pizza place, although they have over 40 different combinations of pizzas. I ordered a mixed salad which was filled with crisp fresh lettuce, corn, carrots, beets, cucumbers and tomatoes in a tangy vinaigrette which my husband and I shared. Next I had papparedelle pasta served in a rich and creamy 3 cheese rosa sauce with fresh, moist salmon. Delicious! My husband ordered spaghetti pasta with small, fresh French mussels in a garlic, oil, and parsley sauce. The servings were very large and could easily be shared by 2.

At this point, the meal cost about $$70 US. We shared a nice bottle of Italian red wine. As I have mentioned in other reviews about Lucerne, this is a very expensive city. The meal at this restaurant was modestly priced and the quality was excellent.

The value shows in that the restaurant was filled at lunch time and there were a lot of locals. The owner has been there 24 years, so he knows lots of folks and they often stop in to say hello and have a bite!

We wandered by & liked the look of this restaurant from the outside - frosted glass, chandaliers.
The Swiss eat early & arriving at about 7pm we were shuttled through the nice looking front room to a big area out the back, squished in a corner, very much a family restaurant so children around (not what we were after).
We both ordered pasta & it was nice, not the best ever but still good.
Service decreased the later it got, so by about 8pm, there was none really. It took us over 30 mins from requesting the bill to actually receive it.
It would have been much better to have gone earlier. Most guests seem to have been locals which is uaully a good sign/
We were there in off-season, in summer it would be hard to get a table I would assume.

My husband HATES dining out anywhere near the river after a few less than stellar experiences. It took some convincing but from the moment he stepped in he was a happy camper. Me too, liked the look of the place, and we were actually lucky to get a table. However, we were parked near the pizza oven, where all the back end of the restaurant comes together, and then treated to some fairly off hand service (slow with menus, taking orders, bringing entree etc).. Whatever - the food is definitely worth returning for. Our starter plate of cold meats was fresh & fab (truffle salami-awesome!!!), but very stingy portion of bread. When called on it, they brought us a proper basket (come to think of it, the service definitely became warmer at around this point...), and it is very good bread indeed. Pizza is just heaven (great woodfired base, and generous with the toppingss - salami covers the pizza rather than the desultory 5to6 slices you usually see in this country) and the salad was very good too. More points to the charming lady who noticed we were sharing and came to cut the pizzas for us. In the end. husband was very happy to find a good pizza place in Luzern and I can see us settling in as regulars here.
