Location of the hotel + staff coordiality made our stay pleasant.
Reception staff was very helpful and informative about geral queries by tourist.

Breakfast is really good even if one is vegetarian - being variety of options like juices, fruits and cereals as well.
Overall, would definitly recommend this hotel considering plus points as - if you are planning to stay in Luzern and require to have frequnt connection with Train travel, located in city vicinity

Room Tip: Corner rooms are slightly of bigger size

This is a basic hotel, cean with good service, close to train station. However the breakfast was poor and for the eleven nights I spent there they never changed their menu, I enjoyed their scrambled eggs though. I found their pillows very soft and not comfortable, the offer harder ones but when I requested one they didn't deliver and I didn't bother to ask again. Their main advantage was the bike that they provide for their customers free of charge, which I used to tour the city.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights, and were very satisfied. Our room was spacious, with desk and chair plus two comfy chairs that opened out into small couches. The bathroom was roomy and well-equipped. Our breakfasts were outstanding, served in a lovely, light-filled room that becomes the Bolero Restaurant in the evenings. We had an excellent selection of cheeses and cold meats, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, and wonderful crusty, fresh breads and rolls. Eggs and omelets, made to order, are included. And for a tea-drinker like me, there were pots to fill with hot water, a great selection of teas in large bags, and little dishes for the discarded tea bags. Service was always excellent, with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and waterfront, and across the street was the Capitol, a movie theater, and Doner Kebabs, with great sandwiches. The neighborhood is charming, with interesting galleries and shops. Our only complaint was the lighting in our room. It was dim overall, and there was a reading light on only one side of the bed.

Having stayed in a variety of Swiss hotels I have to say that Cascada was above average. Rooms are small but they all have flat screens and iPod docks. Service is perfect, location is great, specially if you arrieve by train and the lobby is modern.
Breakfast was complete with great omelets.

We recently visited Lucerne and stayed in Hotel Cascada for several nights. The location is great--only a few minutes walk to the train station, tram stop, restaurants ,and tourist sites.
We found the front desk staff to be very helpful and informative. Breakfast, which was included, was in a nice in-house restaurant area and had a good selection (adding hot cereal would be nice). The hotel has A/C which really works. The free computer was useful as was the mini-refrig in the room. Downside was the size of the room- very small, and we stayed in the accessible room, which was larger than some others. The furnishings are very minimalist. In our bathroom, the shower soaked the whole floor. Room could use a hot water heater for making tea and coffee. Would also be nice to have some upgraded toiletries in the bathroom. We recommend this hotel.
