Description: The cellar restaurant Valaisanne & Chalet Switzerland, Dumoulin family owned since 1960, is located in the heart of the city of Geneva, surrounded by the Victoria Hall, the Grand Theatre, the Music Conservatory, the Bastions Park and its monument Reformation. This has the distinction of offering typical and 4 different settings: Swiss Chalet, Brasserie, Swiss Village and Carnotzet. Added to this is during the summer, the terrace shaded by plane trees. So every customer does not feel squashed in the middle of the large crowd. The high flow ensures the best quality and freshness of the dishes served. Swiss wines are honored and come, mostly French-speaking cantons. La Cave Valais is known for its many types of fondue and raclette especially raw milk. What is less known is that the card is one of the most varied and provided our beloved Geneva basin. Although logically say typical specialties take center stage, there remains many specialties and bar meals made the reputation of the institution (sauerkraut zürcher geschnetzeltes home with rosti, etc ...) . Not to mention that the two dishes of the day are served at lunchtime are renewed every day and served with a green salad or homemade soup (your choice). Through our various salads into our pasta dishes, menus or stopping on our perch fillets, the supply is diversity in appointments and everything is cooked by a skilled team.

The atmosphere of the place feels really authentic and pleasant, the service was at a top level but the food was a bit too heavy and greasy for my taste.

A must for tourists visiting Geneva, Switzerland For the meat lovers- Try choux croûte and the steak tartare in different varieties. For the fish lovers - try their Filet de perche. Cave Valaisanne Restaurant is very accessible with public transport and just across the Parc Plainpalais where there’s a flea market of antique artifacts, fresh veggies & fruits, etc...

Th restaurant has very authentic and traditional Swiss atmosphere. It actually looks and feels kind of old and heavy. The menu includes traditional Swiss dishes. We tried beef fondue, which was very tasty and great for sharing, potato rosti with ham and lots of cheese, which made the dish a bit too heavy for my taste, the desserts are also quite good. Service was impeccable.

Went here with colleagues and had the cheese fondue. Service perfect and nice and food also. The atmosphere was cosy and felt real Swiss so absolutely a place to go when you are around!

We were particularly seeking a restaurant serving raclette and when recommended this place (by another restaurant) we were not disappointed at all.

Great cheesy raclette and quality potatoes and servings of bread, it was worth waiting to find this place as there did not seem many in Geneva serving raclette.

Reasonably priced and good service - you can see the cheese being shaved off - see my photo. One member of our party had a pasta dish instead but we all enjoyed the food without exception, definitely recommend if you need your fix of raclettle!!
