Right off the bat, it’s clean. The rooms are small, but comfortable. The carpeting and little sitting room in the hall is trendy and it made me happy when I walked through to our room. The shower in our room was spacious enough with nice rain shower head and handheld wand for rinsing. The front desk staff, to me, were exceedingly friendly, helpful and NICE. I love when you find that. We had three very lovely days and. Ignts at Kreuz Bern. Thank you!!!

The location of this hotel is great- you can easily walk to most sites or the tram and train station are nearby. We stayed in room 302 which was lovely as it had a balcony onto the street. Seemed it was the only room to have a balcony. Breakfast was simple but they served all you needed. The shower was also great!

The Hotel is easily reachable . It took us exactly 8 min walking from the main train station. It is situated in the heart of the city, very close to the old town and many main Bern attractions. The hotel is next to a supermarket which was perfect to us. Many shops and restaurants were nearby . As soon as we entered the Hotel, you can easily see that it is recently renovated. The stuff was very welcoming , very friendly and speaking very fluent english. The first surprise is that our room was ready and it was only 10 am!! It was a blessing for us since we had a long night flight. The receptionist explained all hotel’s services an handed over our keys.
Our room was on the fourth floor with a street view.
As soon as we entered the room, we were surprised by its space.
It was a triple room with 1 king bed and one extra bed located in a separate room with its own tv and closet!! A simple , clean and modern atmosphere . Couldn’t ask for more!! Bathroom offered a great shower space adequate for disabled people. We had several usb plugs Which was perfect. We had an agenda with several notes from the hotel stuff containing restaurants recommendations in Bern . While reading as well, we got to know that on each floor of the hotel, we can find a room for coffee making, a small library and PC access and a play room... that was awesome!!
Breakfast was good with fresh ingredients. Welcoming and helpful staff asking each day for our needs . Easter colored boiled eggs were our joy .Great choice of bread . What we missed is a coffee making machine in the breakfast room but that was fine for us.
Breakfast opens from 6:30 till 10:30 am which was excellent. It was very quiet and relaxing room for our mornings.
It feels you are home although you are spending few hours there.
Staff is always available during the night and that we appreciated it. It is a very secure property. Each room has its own safe box which is a plus for this hotel along with several closets in the lobby to be able to put our luggages in case of early checkout.
Our departure flight was at night so we appreciated the fact that we were still able to prepare coffee and relax on the fourth floor and access to the cleanest bathroom I’ve ever seen on the first floor .
It is a wonderful hotel that i highly recommend for all Bern visitors. We hesitated between several hotels but we had a great decision to choose kreuz hotel.
It is the perfect choice you will made if you are visiting Bern.
It is a well deserved 3 stars Hotel!!

Overall we liked this hotel. Our room was quiet, secure, well maintained, outfitted with modern ameneties (eg, USB charging ports by your bed), with a fully functional spacious bathroom, and creative touches (like a skylight to brighten up the room).

The front desk staff were all very helpful and accomodating (even to us tourists). Only in one instance did we get "errant" advice : we asked for a good dinner suggestion on our last night in Bern and were sent to an area where there was a lot of heavy construction and a long dark walk to the restaurant (down to the river bank). Needless to say, we turned around and looked elsewhere.

The hotel gets deductions however for its breakfast offering. Not so much the food (which was very basic), but the ambience. There was a refrigerated display case that made so much noise you could not have a conversation if you were seated at a nearby table. What was also disturbing was the presence of mouse traps by the wall on the window area.

The hotel's main advantage is it's location. It is very central to everything in the heart of Bern.

Would we come back to this hotel? Probably, since the pluses still outweigh the negatives.

Room tip: We chose a "courtyard" (really an alley) facing room to ensure quiet at night.

Well, I am not one to complain, but...here's what happened. Based on the photos on the hotel's website, I booked a double room. But when we checked in, what we got was the smallest room ever! There was one narrow aisle that we literally could not be in at the same time, a tiny desk, a small TV over the desk, and a small double bed against the wall. No room for luggage, no room for US! Oh. And a tiny window looking at the roof. No Way! This was nothing like the photos on the website! And we could not stay in this room. We are not divas, but this was truly impossible. So, the husband had to go down to the desk, armed with his phone and the photos of the room we thought we booked. I guess the room I booked was the room we got, but that was unacceptable. The clerk explained that the hotel was full...but YES! there was another room we could have that was better than what we booked! So we moved to a wonderful room on the top floor. Oh! It was so nice. Two attic windows, and lots of room around the bed, and a big TV facing the bed. So Much Better! So, thank you, so much. And a word of warning - do not believe the photos on the website. Book a bigger room. You will thank me!!
Now. The location is great. Close to the train and walking distance to all of Bern. But, I was not impressed with the breakfast - just OK. So, be careful what room you book, great location, breakfast just OK.
