A few steps from the nice Gio Wine and Jazz Hotel is located this simple but fine restaurant. At lunch it seems that most of its clients are local customers. The place offer a wide selection of food including seafood. Prices are reasonable and service is very friendly. You can stop here for a meal before continue on to the historical center of Perugia, particularly if you stay at Gio Hotel.

This restaurant is very conveniently situated close to The Hotel Gio where we stayed, and offers a good selection of home-made italian dishes, from pizze to pastas and fishes. The ambiance was great at lunch where many local guests kept coming and exiting. The owner is friendly, the service very efficient and the final bill very reasonable.

When I think about an authentic italian restaurant , i definitly go with "La nuit" in Perugia. It was remarkable everytime I've been there. I tasted many different recipies of pasta and advise the following ones: spaghetti alla sabia ( with bread crumbs, very simple and delicious. It's a hidden recipe - almost unknown by tourists - it's not even in the menu, you have to ask the staff to make it), spaghetti alla norcina ( with pork sausage . exclusive recipe from Umbria. Much love), spaghetti alla matriciana, alla putanesca and alla carbonara. All are mouth wathering.
Italians don't really have the habit to dine out. Usually they go home and prepare their own meals or they eat some snacks , like a slice of pizza or some other "spuntino", like a sandwich or something. But La Nuit is a total exception: it is known and visited by locals. It's not by chance that most part of the reviews here are written by italians. It's a little far from downtown, usually you have to go by car...

Found this lovely Italian Pizzaria around the corner from our hotel Gio. Just fancied a nice pizza and was not disappointed. Great service and food for reasonable price. Very Authentic. Give it a try.
