We enjoyed everything about our experience, but will forever remember San Francesco because of our server Bea - who was simply delightful. The atmosphere is perfectly medieval, the kitchen fast and the food excellent. Not easy to give a comfort food type place like this the last star as the food won’t blow your mind - it’s just good, honest, authentic down home cooking at a very reasonable price - all with great service.

Great find of a local restaurant in Perugia. The wine, food, and atmosphere were great. They had English menus for us and made us feel at home for a great experience.

This seemed the most promising restaurant from a wander around the streets of central Perugia and it did not disappoint. Very impressed with alll courses particularly the bruschetta with 6 varieties but also the pork main course and the sorbet. Pjs tho for other tempting things on the menu. And excellent value. To be recommended highly.

Thank Brendan H

Don't miss this place!! Wonderful food at amazing prices, half a litre of house wine for 3 euros! Go for the red (the white is quite sweet!) I took my Mum here and we had the melanzana parmigiana and parpadelle al cinghiale. All the pasta is homemade and fresh - great service too!! Will definitely come back!!

It's one of the historic place in Perugia. Appetizers very good original taste from Umbria region (black truffles from Norcia shaves with pouched eggs asparagus flan and bruschetta, and the so called "barbozzo" basically a special bacon coming from the neck of the pork with a cabbage flan, home made cheeses and prosciutto)
First course pasta are all handmade some very good (like tagliolini or umbricelli or pappardelle) others less good (mostly stuffed pasta like cappellacci, fagottini or ravioli).
Second course: we had crostone (slices of bruschetta with liver pâté) with faraona (a special wild chicken) on top, delicious !
Good choice of vines (especially reds) crafts brewed beers.
Nice atmosphere although there is a bothering noise/eco effect due to the shape of the rooms (medieval)
Best if reserved
Service good, attentive and spontaneous.
Prices average but fare for the quality
Suggested.
