“Da Regina is a hidden sanctuary in an antique setting overlooking Monte Subasio.”

Da Regina is a jewel of an apartment located just past the Piazza San Ruffino and near to the Rocca Maggiore. Just a few minutes walk brings you to all the major sites, yet it is peaceful and meditative. The view is breathtaking and the apartment itself well appointed and clean. There are small grocery stores nearby and very nice restaurants as well. Stefano was attentive and friendly. We had a wonderful stay here, where we felt time stood still. We will return again next year. Grazie mille, Stefano!!

Liked best: the view, and the Assisi characteristic of the apartment
Liked least: There was no air conditioning while Italy was experiencing an unprecedented heat wave. The owner brought over his own fans for us.

Possibly the most brilliant holiday rental you could experience!!
This apartment exceeded my expectations in every way...including the view from the bedroom, bathroom and living room... Which was do spectacular it literally made me gasp!!
The hospitality of Stefano upon arrival, the comfort of the accommodation and the authentic beauty of the building and structure meant I never ever wanted to leave! I felt like a local and completely at home ... Whilst enjoying the fantastic amenity if location and mod cons!!
One thing about this place is the awe inspiring view you will enjoy morning and evening from your very own balcony ... Looking out from your bedroom ... There is no better view in all of Assisi!!!
Excellent value for money!! I would not stay anywhere else!!

Delightful spacious apartment - just as in the photos - with stunning views up the valley from the balcony. Tranquil setting on the edge of Assisi - days full of swallows and nights full of stars! Short walks to everything you could need. Perfect for a peaceful stay.

We stayed at Da Regina for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is just inside the Medieval town, a great location for access to Assisi. The balcony had a beautiful view, we were able to enjoy breakfast and the evening outside .The apartment is well supplied but there are stairs if you have mobility issues.

“A real bit of Assisi”

This little apartment in a row of stone cottages is full of local colour, with old wooden furniture, and plenty of wall decorations and knick-knacks. The view from the rear balcony is of the hills dappled by the rising sun, and around it are equally old stone buildings. It is within the limits of the old city, at exactly the opposite end from the St Francis Basilica, about a 15 minute walk down the hill to it, but it's much closer to the main square, about 5 minutes walk. Free parking was handy, a few hundred metres up towards the Rocca Magiore, and we always found a space. There are loads of restaurants immediately available, generally fine and good value. The apartment has an oven and hob, but we didn't cook beyond coffee/tea and heating bread. There is a small food and essentials shop down the hill towards the square. The Hotel La Rocca, just a few metres away, deals with large groups in its very large restaurant, which can be noisy, but the food there is very nice and it was a God-send for us to have somewhere so close the night the rain came down. Trattoria da Erminio, a couple of streets away, was recommended by Stefano and is a beautiful and very atmospheric place under brick vaulted arches. **** Important note if you are driving to Assisi: Via Porta Perlici is not only a one way street, but it also has two sections meeting at right angles, by an arch alongside Hotel La Rocca. The apartment is in the first, higher part of the street, not down the lower part towards the town after the arch/hotel, where we were directed by the satnav and by passers by. You also have to drive along a lot of narrow streets and corners to get in and out, so my small rental was fine but a larger UK car would certainly have been a trial. Note also that access to the apartment is upstairs inside the street door, and the stairs are pretty steep, but only a few, maybe about eight-ten of them.
