I was with a group of musicians who had previously stayed here and I was not disappointed. We had a double room which was very clean and had private facilities. Daniella and The staff were all friendly and most helpful arranging appointments and activities for the group. The cost of coffees and drinks was extremely cheap, despite the awful exchange rate for the pound. I would highly recommend and come back . Thanks for making our stay memorable. Alla prossima!

Ostello della Pace (Peace Hostel) stands out for its wonderful location, attentive staff and high quality facility. The hostel’s philosophy resonates with Assisi and the type of tourists and pilgrims who visit there by the thousands every year. It is by no means a party-hostel, rather it is a wonderful place to wind down, meet interesting travelers, including families. The rules and regulations that for some might sound too strict (ex. closing time between 10.00 to 16.00) are put into place to ensure quality and consistent service respecting all its guests. All it all, the Ostello della Pace it offers a fantastic value for money. Definitely worth staying a couple of nights.
The location: a 20-minute walk from the train station you can reach it by bus) and 10-minute to the Assisi historical center; Just don’t forget to bring a flashlight with you because the narrow street taking to down is quite dark.
The facility: a gorgeous house with a wonderful outside area. There is a small reception and a large dining area where the dinner is served daily. A home cooked, 2-course meal at 10.50 Euro is the best deal in town. The food is of good standards. Lovely to seat and chat with fellow travelers and guests at the dinner table. Beer & wine is served at a very reasonable price. The rooms are large and clean, so are the bathrooms and showers.

My stay here was okay. The room was big and the lockers were too.

The bathroom was decently clean although it was not made very clear whether it was unisex or not as there was only one per floor and no sign on the door.

There is only one plug in the room for 6 which made it very difficult to charge any kind of decide. I ended up having to go downstairs to charge my devices before I went to bed. One night, however, around 1130 I was kicked out of the common area which was very irritating because this was the only place where the wifi worked well and the only place I could charge my phone while the one available outlet was being used in my room.

Also linens aren't included which is annoying but they are cheap to buy.

Moreover, I arrived later in the evening (around 9) because of the bus schedule and despite the fact that they have a restaurant, I was told there was no food. All they had were small snacks and chips so make sure if you arrive late that your at before you come because there you might not be able to find anything once you're at the hostel.

Lastly, getting to the hostel is a bit difficult. You have to take the bus, which comes very infrequently in the late evening, and it drops off about 10 minute walk away. This walk is on a twisty single lane road which is unpaved. I found this very unsafe! Cars sped around this twisty road and you just had to hope they saw you so you wouldn't get hit. I would not recommend heading to the hostel after dark as I am sure it is even more unsafe then! There needs to be a sidewalk installed as this is the path you need to take when going to and from Assisi.

This hostel is very cheap though which is nice, but not the best I've stayed in.

I was recommended Ostello Della Pace by a friend who had stayed there years ago - and it was an excellent choice. The location is fantastic considering the price and the standard of the rooms, bathrooms etc. And the place is clean and welcoming!

With good instruction on web site it was easy to find the hostel by car. There is a big parking space near nice stone building, which was once a farm house. It is only 10 min walk to the old Assisi - so it is better to leave the car at the hostel, so you dont have problems finding space and paying for parking. All memebers of staff were wery nice and informative - with a great knowlidge about everything in Assisi. Room with dorm beds was spotless clean as he bathroom and dining room. There were not many guests so I stayed alone in the room. Breakfast was great, one of the best in Italian hostels. The garden is also inviting to seat in peace and quiet, but unfortunatey it rained for two days... I will stay here again - I have to come back for a kind of medieval festival in May, which as I was told, is really special!

Room Tip: take the ones with a view of old town
