We have just returned home from The Palazzo di Valli and miss it already. It really is a most charming place to stay, full of character. The historic features have been beautifully preserved, but the rooms have been sympathetically adapted to provide all the facilities required for the modern traveller. The location is ideal, very seldom do you find anywhere so quiet and peaceful with such fabulous rural views yet within walking distance of a great city and all that it has to offer. The fact that you can park your car safely within the grounds is an added bonus.
Another bonus is that the hotel is managed with great care, enthusiasm and efficiency by the two co-owners who are the friendliest and most helpful hosts you could wish to meet. A shout out too to their very helpful assistant who was there to greet us when we arrived at a ridiculous hour thanks to a delayed flight and was on coffee duty each morning at breakfast.
The many positive reviews already posted prompted us to book this hotel and we are so pleased we did. If you are planning a trip to Siena, Palazzo di Valli should be at the top of your list.

We spent five nights at Palazzo di Valli in June, and could not have been more pleased. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the city gate. If you prefer, the bus stop is one block from the hotel and runs every 15 minutes. You can buy a ticket at the hotel, so it's really convenient. Giacomo and Lorenzo are fantastic hosts who spend lots of time giving you restaurant recommendations and information on sight seeing in Siena and in surrounding Tuscan towns. Our room was on the top floor and had a stunning view. Room 24 was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was tasty and filling each morning. I would not stay anywhere else in this area.

We really enjoyed 2 nights here, as an ideal base to visit Siena. It was easy to find and about 15-20 minutes walk to the nearest gate to the city.
Our hosts were very welcoming and kind, and a good source of information about the city and the Palio. We were given a useful map and advice about local restaurants. The palazzo had parking.
We stated in room 24 which was large and airy, with a seating area and beautiful views over the Tuscan countryside. The toiletries smelt divine.
Breakfast was served on the terrace with muesli, granola, fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissants, cheeses and bacon with eggs. Great cappuccino and orange juice.
It was close enough to return to later in the afternoon to recharge, before heading back to the centre at night to eat.
We would thoroughly recommend as a relaxing and comfortable stay when visiting Siena.

My wife and I enjoyed a 5-night stay at this 18th century villa. Here, you can relax outdoors with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, away from the hustle bustle of the town of Siena itself. Travel to Siena is easy enough, with a bus stop just outside the villa entrance. Buses appear frequently enough, and it's a quick 5 to 10 minute ride to the touristy center of Siena. (Bus tickets can be bought at the villa, for 1.20 Euro each.) Location wise, the Palazzo di Valli makes for a great jumping off point to tour the surrounding area. You are within quick striking distance of the vast Chianti country, also about 30 minutes from Brunello-making Montalcino, and maybe 45 minutes from Montepulciano. How can you possibly go wrong?

The staff here is very friendly and eager to help you with whatever you need -- directions to your next destination, calling you a taxi, preparing your breakfast to order, etc. Special shout-out to Giacomo, who was the staffer we interacted with most of all. The room we stayed in (#22) had a great view, was large and comfortable, with an armoire and a dresser. There was one problem though: the bathroom toilet was stinky through much of our stay, even though it was clearly being cleaned. Not sure what the problem was, but a problem it was. And the shower is quite small, and probably not easily useable for someone who is more than 30 pounds overweight. Just sayin...

Overall, we are very happy we chose to come here for a very important part of our Italian vacation.

My family and I have been to this charming hotel at the beginning of June 2018. Besides being a lovely hotel with good atmosphere and nice breakfast the hosts Giacomo and Lorenzo were so thoughtful that this made our stay even more enjoyable. It is a 15 minutes walking to Siena center but the silence of the property and beautiful views make up for it .
