“Excellent”

We had the downstairs apartment which was beautifully maintained and an excellent size for a family of four but would still be great for 3 couples. Lovely sitting area and excellent kitchen. Even though we were there during early August we did not need to use the air conditioning due to the fact the apartment is kept in shade all day and never really got too warm.
The owners were on hand but left us to enjoy our break without intrusion. The two fantastic apartments and the owners stunning home are in an enclosed area which is just stunning. The property has beautifully kept gardens and an excellent (large) swimming pool. Even though there was another family in the upstairs apartment it still felt like we had the place to ourselves.
The property is only a 10 min drive to Gambassi Terme and around 20 minutes to San Gimignano. San Gimignano is a stunning place and worth more than 1 visit. Would recommend either early morning or later in the day when it is a little quieter.
Florence, Siena and the Chianti region are all within easy reach. I would recommend them all.
For supermarkets, there is a small Spar in Gambassi Terme which was ideal for picking up a few things for the first few days there. However, for a bigger shop I would recommend the COOP which is around 30 minutes drive away in Castelfiorentino. Better choice and reasonably priced.
A car is definitely recommended.
We would recommend this property without hesitation and would definitely consider returning.

“Beautiful, Tranquil, Private Villa”
Reviewed 20 November 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Our family stayed in September 2014 and had a wonderful holiday. This is a stunning villa in a quiet spot with beautiful, immaculately kept grounds and a large pool with a choice of seating/lounging areas. We stayed in the downstairs apartment and enjoyed the indoor/outdoor flow for drinks and meals on the patio. It's more suited to older children (not babies and toddlers) and whilst the owners live in the large house on site, they were very friendly and hospitable and respected our privacy. Well placed for day trips by car, this is a lovely place to return to after a day of sight-seeing. We had a very relaxing stay and were sad to leave.

“Wonderful relaxing place”

We stayed in Osservatorio - 4 adults and 2 kids in August 2014. The grounds were magnificent and the pool just sublime. Owners didn't speak English but we got by and they were very friendly without being obtrusive. And gave us some lovely fresh fruit! The house was very comfortable with everything you could need. Info on nearby restaurants and all recommendations were great. Perfect location for exploring Tuscany. Lovely BBQ area too which we enjoyed with food from nearby Spar being very good. I would certainly recommend any of the villas here as they were all of an incredibly high standard. One point - a car is essential.

“Under the Tuscan Sun”
Reviewed 19 November 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Spent a beautiful week in Tuscany at Orione. Apartment has two large bedrooms and a loft with two twin beds or one full. Eat in Kitchen, Living Room with Wifi and very large outside surrounding stone deck/porch with tables and hammock.

Lovely scenery, friendly hosts and staff, relaxing atmosphere. Great pool with huge sitting areas. Easy access to many towns including San Gimignano, Volterra, vineyards and unbelievable views.

Great fun to shop where locals do. We had our family in for a week and it was a perfect end to our European vacation. Love to Neva and we'll learn more Italian for our return!

“Reach for the Stars”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

From the moment you drive into the 'Osservatorio' grounds you know that you are in for a treat - and you won't be disappointed. Orione and another apartment , Acquario, are in a large house, built in the grounds of the owners, Neva and Giovanni. Orione is the larger and is wonderfully furnished with a balcony at the back which overlooks the garden and neighbouring fields. In the grounds, there is a fantastic swimming pool and a separate decking area with great outdoor loungers. Neva and Giovanni are always available and nothing is too much trouble ; as they speak very little English they rely on Serena who is always available on the phone for any help ; she is also the contact for booking the holiday. They also offer the facility to have a full Italian meal cooked for you and eaten on your balcony and served with local wine.
