The landscape around the hotel was a special one. Location near San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, etc.
Unfortunately, the hotel is located near the highway and the noise of the passing cars breaks you from the beauty of the place. Breakfast is relatively summary, it could have been better.

Probably one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in. Easy to find and on the way in to SG. Lovely rooms, clean beds and bathroom and a veranda that looked up to bank and fields. The swimming pool is functional, lots of sunbeds and great place just to chill. We drove into san Gimignano and parked at one of the many car parks but you could walk if not too hot! Donnatella and her staff were amazing, lots of knowledge on the local area and happy to share their knowledge! Thanks for a lovely stay.
Breakfasts were amazing, I am surprised I didn't put any weight on! Hams cheese cakes and as much coffee as you like!

A perfect stay!

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor have better views

Firstly I must agree with a previous reviewer, the staff at Le Colline were very friendly and helpful.This however only went part way to compensate for very basic rooms. Tubular steel beds that look like something out of a boarding school dormitory ( we kept catching our legs on the ends, ouch!) The very dilapidated balcony definitely needs repainting and the nasty green plastic table and chairs should have been replaced years ago. Rooms at the back directly overlook an unkempt embankment ( you don't see that on the website) as we were there for a week this was very disappointing. It seems to us that for not a great amount of money this place could be improved hugely. We wouldn't recommend it

A family run hotel.all staff helpful and friendly. Room basic and very clean. No bar but an excellent restaurant . About forty minute walk or five minute drive into San Gimignano. Nice pool area. Plenty of parking.

A very warm and multi-lingual welcome. We were keen to practise our Italian but they spoke fantastic English. We chose to be out of the centre as we had a hire car and there is good parking with a lovely uphill walk to town with the most gorgeous view of San G. Rooms were really clean, simply decorated, lots of storage, little fridge, balcony, lovely bathroom and great shower - all excellent standard and very friendly people working throughout the hotel. Breakfast was amazing - my booking was cheaper to have breakfast than not to have it - and the new coffee machine is fantastic. Full continental spread with veg, cheese, meat as well as lovely croissants, range of 4 cereals, yoghurt, cake, biscuits and fresh fruit. Would happily return though I am sure that some would prefer a more central experience in San G but we loved walking into town and anticipating the beauty.

Room Tip: Rooms away from view are quieter as not facing road; I think all have a balcony;
