Within short walking distance of the major monuments, but out of the tourist hustle-bustle, this medium size hotel is an attractive, clean renovation of an 13th century tower palazzo with all modern amenities. Rooms are unspectacular, but larger than most hotels in Pisa and the breakfast buffet is very generous.
The desk staff seem all to be related and are very kind and helpful and can arrange day trips to other parts of Tuscany, if you wish.
The rooftop outdoor patio is a plus, with nice views of the nearby monuments. Be prepared to climb a lot of steps.
Pisa is a great town to explore. By all means, see the tower and the cathedral, but get away from them and the mediocre tourist restaurants, and into the town towards the river for delightful, historical, romantic walks and really good restaurants with the locals. A walk along the Arno river at twilight is a treat.More
