Room was dark and had only one window almost at the ceiling, we had to step up in a chair to open it. Feels like you're sleeping in a dungeon.
Check in time is limited from 10AM to 11PM and between that if you need anything you won't get any help.
Bathroom was ok.
Mattresses were the worst nightmare, very old and soft, we woke up with a sore back.
The only positive thing about this place is the location-5 minutes walking from the train station. But there are a lot of other options nearby.
And when you make the reservation, pay attention, since there Albergo Diana is a "B-side" of a hotel that looks like very nice (even the checkin in made at the reception of this hotel).
So, it is confusing if you are not aware of it - be very careful on the moment of making the reservation.

Great location for ok price. Or room in the detached building was spacious and good. Parking 15 euro nearby and from hotel. Save and practical in carfree center. I recommend this place in middle of Lucca.

Since the reviews below were written things have changed. The manager has left and there is no-one on reception - you have to check in at Albergo San Martino. The room we were given was painted dark red - walls and ceiling - with one high window. It felt like being in a dungeon.
The corridors were dark blue with a light on a timer and a machine for dispensing drinks. More like a hostel than a b and b. The en suite was painted silver throughout, including the shower.
Horrible. There is no breakfast option - you have to go out.
The only advantage is the location which is not far from the station but within the old city.

Room Tip: Don't stay here

This lovely hotel is in an excellent location within the walls of Lucca. It is not far from the train station and easy to find. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Well worth a stay and good value for money. The hotel is near the beautiful piazza san martino.

Nice friendly staff.Clean tidy rooms with a lovely breakfast.Parking is extra but close by which is rare in Lucca.Wonderful town to visit. The only negative was the air conditioning unit was old so it was a bit noisy but we just turned it off to go to bed.
