because one of us is handicapped, the elevator was a bonus. we were there almost three weeks. good property but three-levels inside apt were difficult. we spent a lot more on food than planned because the refrig was out for the first several days. the ac unit on the lower floor was not adequate for the third level so it was too hot until the fall weather came. tiny shower! NOT for XL-wearers! one of their two fans malfunctioned and heated up the outlet, fortunately, husband was right there to pull the plug! the fan was not replaced. the dishwasher never worked and the washer/dryer for clothes just barely functioned. we were unable to get the dryer cycle to work. furnished differently than advertised (no sitting area in bedroom, which was inconvenient). we had zero housekeeping visits for the entire time we were there, although we requested at least to have the floors swept/cleaned just before we had important company near the end of our stay. no response. nothing. the people in the office were friendly, helped us find a dentist nearby, and made some copies for us BUT never did answer our housekeeping request. we understand they are accustomed to short stay rentals. we think they should offer basic cleaning service once per week on long-term rentals. this would be a big improvement. we don't want to clean while on vacation! a reserved thumbs up. just barely! the location is good because it is very close to the historic district but not right in it, with interesting old frescoes in the bedroom. the people at Pizzaria Dante restaurant next door are wonderful! great value for the price, especially if the weather is nice. we recommend this unit for a long-term stay but only if you are not large or handicapped!

First of all thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your stay in Florence. I think that it is also important to add our reply to complete the picture. Unfortunately many of our apartments aren't suitable if you have issues with climbing stairs and I recall that you had a wheel chair. If we would have known this before we would have suggested something that could actually match your needs. As you can see in our website, the photos are exactly as the apartment is: there are stairs internally, also to go from the bedroom to the bathroom, the furniture is typically Florentine..basically it's all in the advert. I personally took care of all your requests during the reservation and everything that has been reported has all been fixed/explained/found another solution to make your stay as comfortable as possible (including giving you a contact of a dentist, printing docs, supermarkets directions, suggestions on what to do and where to go to explore the city as a true Florentine..). Concerning cleanings we don't provide them since we are a real estate agency, therefore we only take care of the rental and we give you some suggestions if you need anything else. We do understand that you are in a foreign country and suggestions are precious, especially if you are on vacation, but we don't provide any service, we just rent houses. I really hope that this experience will help you to better evaluate the apartments that you will book for your future holidays. It seems easy, but it's always better to ask some suggestions to the hosts before actually booking something, especially if you have special needs and requirements. I also hope that beside these few hiccups you had a great stay in Florence. Have a great day!
