This door of this comfortable little gem is between two
Restaurants right on Piazza della Signoria
The staff are friendly and helpful but are only there in the
Mornings - it's not a hotel
The room I had was spacious clean comfortable and quiet - can't ask for more than that
The only warning I would give is - there are 30 steps to get your luggage up before getting to a small lift that you take to the second floor

Stayed: June 2015, travelled solo

We stayed at Soggiorno Antica Torre for three nights. First, this is not a hotel, it is a B&B. Someone is at the front desk until 13:00 and then it becomes more like having an apartment in Florence. If you require a full service (along with the outrageous price) of a full service hotel then this is probably not for you.
With that said, we loved this place. The location, the staff, absolutely everything about Soggiorno Antica Torre was perfect. The location could not be better and the cost is more than reasonable. It may be the best bargain in Florence. The photo of the Piazza is from one of the rooms overlooking the Piazza Della Signoria. The room we stayed in was on the other side of the B&B without such a grand view but it was quieter and very, very comfortable with a queen bed, couch and furnishings
that reflected the ambiance of Florence. You enter the hotel through a door located between two very good restaurants in the piazza. It may be a bit shallow to say but I felt a little special seeing the envious looks on some of the diners faces as they saw us unlock and open the door to our hotel in this beautiful piazza. The Maitre'ds of the restaurants always greeted us with "Buongiorno neighbors" whenever they saw us. After entering, there is a wide marble stairway to the secod floor, at which point there is a lift to the
B&B lobby on the third floor. The hotel is within an easy stroll of all the tour book highlights of Florence such as the Academia and the Duomo. The Uffizzi and Ponte Vecchio are around the corner. The photo of the Uffizi roof restaurant shows how close it is to the Palazzo Vecchio in the piazza. It is also a wonderful starting point to just stroll and discover the hidden charms of Florence, of which there are many.
The hotel has free wifi and guests also have full use of a deskop computer and printer - very handy when you need to print out ticket or train reservations made on-line. Costanza, Pamela and the rest of the staff are very friendly, helpful and genuinely interested in making your stay as comfortable and stress free as possible. They helped us with train reservations, tickets to the museums, information about Florence and anything else we needed. Their being available only until 13:00 was not a problem at all. It really was like we had our own exclusive apartment in Florence.
We would definitely return here. Actually, after staying here I don't know if I would be happy staying anywhere else in Florence on our next visit.

Room Tip: The rooms overlookng the Piazza have a beautiful view buty may be a little noisy at night. The rooms off the Piazza may be somewhat quieter

Fantastic location. Charming traditional location. Excellent value with all major attractions within a short walk and plenty of restaurants and cafes. We didn't have breakfast at the accommodation as we sampled the local cafes.

From the Soggiorno, you can reach walking all main landmarks in Florence. Rooms are very well maintained and the ladies at the reception are very helpful with advice and support. Please notice that the reception works only in day time, so if you arrive out of the working hours, don't forget to have the phone number at hand so that you get instructions how to get to your room.

My wife and I stayed in the Gold Room for two days. The room is beautifully done, but the best part is the view. It had an unbelievable view of the Piazza Signoria and the Palazzo Vecchio. I don't think there is another room in the city that has this kind of view. Pay the extra money and stay in the Gold Room. The location is central to everything as well. Ponte Vecchio is only a few minutes away. Everything is at your doorstep-although I would stay away from restaurants on the square, Rivoire was a great place for breakfast - eat inside to avoid high tourist prices. Staff was very helpful and nice. This is not your normal kind of hotel. Staff is only there in the morning. However, this is exactly what we wanted. It makes you feel more like a resident than just an overnight guest. We would definitely stay here again if ever back in Florence.

Room Tip: Go for the Gold Room
