My wife and I stayed in the Gold Room for two days. The room is beautifully done, but the best part is the view. It had an unbelievable view of the Piazza Signoria and the Palazzo Vecchio. I don't think there is another room in the city that has this kind of view. Pay the extra money and stay in the Gold Room. The location is central to everything as well. Ponte Vecchio is only a few minutes away. Everything is at your doorstep-although I would stay away from restaurants on the square, Rivoire was a great place for breakfast - eat inside to avoid high tourist prices. Staff was very helpful and nice. This is not your normal kind of hotel. Staff is only there in the morning. However, this is exactly what we wanted. It makes you feel more like a resident than just an overnight guest. We would definitely stay here again if ever back in Florence.

Room Tip: Go for the Gold Room

Very friendly and helpful staff (special thanks to Constanza and Pamela), large and well furbished rooms and very quiet if you get a room to the back like us. We really loved the place and can easily recommend it to anybody who likes to stay in the very centre of a busy city (Piazza Signoria).
If you go to Florence by car ask the staff for car parking reservations at the garage "via della Terme"-very helpful if you get lost in the single track roads in Florence. And yes, it is true- you are allowed to drive in the restricted area of the city centre, the hotel/garage manages everything.
Once again thank you for a very pleasant vacation.

Not too sure what perfect is, but this place was spot in terms of accommodations, staff, location, and what can one say about the Gold Room, just wow! We were a bit concerned with our arrival time (late afternoon) and with some of the other comments about getting access to the room. And while there was a minute there where we were unsure of what was what in terms of access to the building and the rooms, all was resolved rather quickly....we were fresh off an overnight flight from Africa so being weary and worn to a frazzle after 24 travel hours. Anyway, much to do about nothing!
With that being said:
- The Room. A+, spacious, well appointed, and a view to kill for.
- Hotel Staff. Just wonderful
- Hotel location. Right in the middle of it all.
- The view. As said, a view to kill for.
- Bath/shower. No issues, no problems, it all worked, and worked well.
- Bed, room. Comfy and clean.
- Morning coffee. Nice, but there are numerous places to get coffee, pastries, etc just outside the door.
- Would we stay here again? Ahhh make that a resounding YES.

Note; you might expect with the Gold Room overlooking the square to be disturbed by noise, we were not....with one exception, and that was some really loud drunks stumbling home in wee hours of the night....geez they were loud.

You could ask for a better location situated where it is in the Piazza della Signoria and just a few steps away from the Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi, and just around the corner from the Duomo. The rooms at the Soggiorno are spacious, comfortable and clean only lacking in coffee making facilities. However as restaurants and cafés abound just outside this is not really a problem.i would have no qualms whatsoever in staying here again and would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: You need to first climb a flight of narrow steps to reach the lift to take you to the second floor w...

Location, location, location. I spent more than 5 hours searching for the place to stay in Florence. The first thing you find is nothing is cheap unless you really want to stay in a hostel! I too read the reviews below and agree with most of what has been written. Room 5 was large, clean with a big bathroom. It faces at the back of the hotel, so good if you don't want to hear the hustle of the main square. IT IS HARD TO FIND - However on booking you are supposed to be sent an email with arrival instructions, this never came. It was not a a big deal as we rang the hotel and were instructed by the staff. So for anyone else staying there in the future - Looking face onto the statue of David, the hotel is on the right. It does not have a sign outside, but the entrance is a wooden door between the two restaurants. When you stand at the door a brass plaque shows which bell to ring. The staff let you in by remote, up the stairs in the lift to the 2nd floor. You are given a code to enter into the door and in you go. Keys are in the doors to the rooms so you just check yourself in. Staff are available at the locations between 8am and 1pm. Wifi is available but at times was slow, however lots of free wifi offered around the city, so no big deal. Some nice touches with small fridge drinks at very reasonable prices and some boiled sweets in a tray. Breakfast is offered at 1.50 per item, but not needed as when you step outside everything is on your doorstep. In particular, step outside and turn left, four doors down is a tiny coffee bar at very reasonable prices, unlike some of the cafes on the square. As it is so close, very easy to take back up to the room. Check out is 10.30am. Hint: If you have a late flight back, leave visiting the Museo di Palazzo Vecchio (where the statue of David is) until departure day as they have a luggage store room where they will take your suitcase while you look round. They are not stupid, so will not take your luggage until you show your ticket. I would stay here again with no hesitation. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. We were shown the Gold room on checkout which overlooks the square. If you want to pay for a very large room with a fab view this is for you. It can sleep up to 5 as there is a separate area with a single bed (no door, just an archway) and a sofa bed.

Room Tip: Gold room: view of square Room 5 - at the back and quiet
