The hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes from Firenze R/R Stazione. The reception was cold and unfriendly. Beware of DOUBLE CHARGING. We were charged on our VISA for one night before we arrived in the hotel. We are presently is in dispute with the hotel through VISA.

This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Room No.12 was a 5 star nightmare.

I promised the person at the recepetion that I wouldn't upload the photos of the room, in order not to do more damage, but this room was totally unacceptable and the "offered" rate was likewise scandalous. I seriously advise anyone with intentions of even remotely staying at this hotel to think twice. It's classified as a 2 Star hotel but it really does not even qualify for any star, more like a big X.

Although the staff were helpful and friendly, there was nothing that could compliment the room and the condition it was in.

Terrible.

Three friends and i did a tour of europe this summer and this hotel was the worst hotel we stayed in. First of all, it is a part of another, nicer hotel. whenever we needed anything we had to go to the other hotel which is across the hall for help. The staff was rude and inconsiderate. they told us our room would be ready at 1:30 so when we showed up at 3 soaking wet (it had been raining) they made us wait twenty minutes (in the other hotel lobby) while they prepared our room. Because we were leaving early in the morning we asked to pay the day before. The manager who was reading a newspaper at the time told us to come back in a couple hours and then we could pay for the hotel. If you stay here, do not stay in a room bordering a bathroom! the walls are paper thin and i was awakened every night when someone flushed the toilet.

Dear Sirs,
we suspect you stayed in another hotel, not at Hotel Bijou: our hotel it is not absolutely a part of another hotel. The Hotel Bijou is run and owned by the V.T.B. sas: this company has only the Hotel Bijou, it doesn't own or run other hotels. You talked about another hotel, you said you waited in the other hotel lobby, but what is the name of the other hotel? Obviously, you did not mention it because there is not another hotel! Also, you said the hotel walls are paper thin: sorry that's absolutely insulting and false because the Hotel Bijou is situated in an ancient building in Florence, and everybody knows all ancient buildings of Florence have very thick walls.
For these reasons, your review is not absolutely credible, sorry: if you were honest people, you would delete it.

My partner and I did a week long city-break in florence and we couldn't have chosen better! The fact that it's just around the corner from the Termini is amazing as we got there by coach after a night flight, and were dropped off outside. We were tired and travel-weary and when we got to the hotel we were glad to be signed in quickly and taken to our room. Sure, there were no frills and there was no orchestra to welcome us, but honestly, who needs it?

It's in a brilliant location, we left every morning and walked to the via nationale where there's an outstandingly cheap supermarket (yet good quality, with a deli etc. also cleverly avoiding the mega-high prices of the tourist district) where we picked up bread and things for lunch and fresh melon for breakfast, and then it was a 5 minute walk to the famous markets of San Lorenzo, and another couple of minutes to the Duomo (possibly the heart of florence).

Customer service was great. We were asked to change room halfway through the week but this was no hardship as we got a better room than before, and they were very good about it all! Let us keep our bags at the hotel (sign out at 12:00 but plane didn't leave until 23:00) saving us the hastle of keeping them at the train station.

Overall a brilliant stay, and the hotel was exactly what we needed it to be, we went for the city, after all, not to sit inside all day watching tv!

I was there in September 2009, the location was perfect and we found it right away - just across from the train station. we got the cheapest room with shared bathroom it wasn`t quite clean but wasn`t so bad. the room was really tiny and the bed had only one sheet for 2 people, The street where the hostel is is quite noisy in early morning and there were some mosquitos biting my girlfriend in the night. Ithink that the rooms with private bathroom were better but we stayed only for a night and that`s why we took the cheapest room. Anyway for this price the conditions were ok.
