For a small hotel I would give this a five star rate for its cleanliness, service, food and location. They have a good Internet connection also for free. A prefect choice to stay in Florence.

The hotel Botticelli is a modest little hotel in a great queit location for exploring Florence on foot. All the major sights are within comfortable walking distance.
Reception staff and breakfast room staff are very friendly and helpful and speak English fluently.
Our standard room was small but adequate, with comfortable (firm) beds and was very clean. Showeroom/wc was tiny but worked. There was adequate wardrobe storage for a short stay and a table with tv and fridge minibar. The only real downside was very noisy plumbing, which meant noise disturbance from neighbouring rooms - our bedhead wall was directly adjacent to the bathroom of another room and one morning we were woken at 6.00am for over an hour by guests next door repeatedly using their bathroom in preparation for an early check out! Not their fault of course. Also on the second floor was a very nice little open terrace overlooking the street and square beyond - a pleasant refuge with a drink after a hard days sightseeing.
The continental breakfast was more than adequate, with a good selection of cereals, breads, meats etc., fruit juice and excellent coffee.
Getting there: we flew to Florence airport, which is much more convenient than Pisa airport. It is only a few miles to the city centre and taxis are very expensive for the distance involved (c25Euros). However, there is a frequent (every 30 min) express public bus shuttle from the airport to the main railway station, which costs only 5Euros each. We used this both ways. With a map, the walk from the Station to Hotel Botticelli is straightforward and comfortably achieved in less than ten minutes.
Other tips: Online advanced booking for Uffizzi gallery worked smoothly to avoid the big queues. Florence is expensive. If you want to avoid paying up to 4Euros for a small soft drink or beer in a cafe, try the 99cent shops. There are several of these scattered around the old town.
Excursions: we enjoyed a day trip to Lucca (Puccini's birthplace); took about 75 minutes by stopping train from Florence (frequent trains) at a fare of only 12Euros return.
very difficult to fault this small and friendly run hotel.
We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is within walking distance to anywhere you need to go. The staff are very helpful and will advise on sightseeing trips. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast plentiful. Plenty of excellent restaurants nearbye.
Stayed here for 8 days recently. Hard to have made a better choice for 1st trip to Florence. The location lets you walk to every major attraction and also get back to the hotel for a break when needed. The rooms and the showers are not large but are adequate. Didn't spend much time in rooms anyway. The staff are very knowledge and are extremely helpful. The rooms are very clean and the housekeeping service was excellent. Really good restaurants, steps outside the door and within easy walking distance. We had an extremely pleasant stay here and would return here at any opportunity. It is also a very good value.
Clean, comfortable accomodations...friendly and informative staff...easy walking distance to all the major sights (Duomo, Uffizi, Piti Palace, Santa Croce, Accademia, etc.)...fabulous food within a block at ZaZa's, Pepo's, and (for lunch) the Central Market. For my wife and I it was the perfect hotel to experience Renaissance Florence!
