This small 3-star hotel, located just west of Santa Maria Novella in central Florence, provides spotless accommodations and attentive service. The people at the front desk were extremely helpful in arranging tickets for us, providing directions and restaurant recommendations, and even encouraging my efforts to speak in Italian. We booked a triple room, which provided a nice separation between the parents bed and the third bed for our teenager and two windows overlooking a quiet side street, looking out over red-tiled rooftops. The morning cappucino was excellent, and accompanied by a nice buffet of croissants, rolls, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, juices, and condiments. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and we looked forward to returning "home" at the end of a busy day. The family also runs a Ristorante Trattoria around the corner, La Carabaccia, where we were welcomed with grace (and prosecco! and a discount for hotel guests) for a lovely dinner. My husband tried the boar!
The location of the hotel is excellent, in easy walking distance to all the major sights in Florence, but also close to areas you might not get to if you were right at the Ponte Vecchio, such as the antiques and hand-made artisan stores in the streets around the Borgo Ognissante.More
