“Just walk out the door and Florence is right there !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2012

No transport necessary to see the sights right from the hotel ! Stayed April 21 + 22 in single room with bath. Efficient check-in/out and luggage storage on last day. Staff helpful and friendly and great breakfast room and bar terrace on 6th floor overlooking the City. In Florence nothing is cheap but the price you pay for the standard of the rooms represents acceptable value. You get what you pay for.
I have visited the town over the years probably a dozen times and a few years back lived there for 6 months. There are cheaper hotel rooms but often the decor, furniture and bed are what is quaintly termed Antico - or stuff that you would get rid off at home as it is past it's usefulness.

The hotel is situated within walking distance to every major attraction in Florence. The staff was very nice but the room was very small and the beds uncomofortable. It was unusually warm while we were there and the air-conditioning was not working. We were told that they do not turn on the a/c till May. We had to keep the windows open at night and it was very loud from the street noise at all hours of the night.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your comment about your stay in Florence, I am sorry that during your stay a couple of things did not satisfy you 100%. In February ( as in your comment it is stated that your stay was during this month) the AC in not working as we are in deep winter time.
I hope that we will welcome you again in the future!

LOVE the perfect location. Overall, the hotel is charming. The decor is well past prime but the room was impeccably clean. Lovely views. Virtually no street noise in rooms, unlike those of our hotel in Florence last October. We appreciated the tv and, for us, wide choice of channels, during a few bouts of jet lag/insomnia. The bathroom is VERY clean but small. The cityscapes from the breakfast area and adjoining terrace were delightful and exceeded expectations. In addition to the overall decor, here's what I hope to see upgraded before my next stay: The mattresses on 2 twin beds were "just okay." I'd appreciate a mirror and alarm clock (there's none) in bedroom, to help the two of us get dressed and out the door more quickly in the morning. I'd appreciate a free bottle of water in room upon arrival more than goofy alcoholic Tang drink in restaurant. The breakfast was subpar. The presentation of food is great but the worst breakfast I've found in comparable hotels in Europe. While the yogurt was great, most everything else (no eggs; same crappy shiny ham, bowls of prunes and peaches in heavy syrup) was grim. I hope they'll provide more fresh food and replace the consistently abyssmal Nescafe coffee maker and toaster that warms but does not toast. We're on vacation and dealing with a 6-hour time differential; why not extend breakfast to 11:00? If you stay here, and I hope you do, 15-minute walk to the amazing and affordable Zeb restaurant; avoid Mama Gina's.

Dear Guest

I thank you for taking time to write a review about us, your comments are highly appreciated as they help us to improve our standards and amend our little mistakes! I have taken good note about the room missing a large mirror, also I am pleased to inform you that we have improved our breakfast with boiled eggs and a larger variety of cakes.
I hope to welcome you again so that you can check our improvements

This place is very centrally located. Just walk out of the hotel and you can grab great coffee, fresh bread, gelato, shop or visit the magnificent Pitti Palace in less than a 10 minute walk. At night (for the four nights we spent in Florence), there was a talented musician performing just on the Ponte Vecchio bridge and it was so pleasant to stop by and listen to him before getting back up to our hotel room. The hotel offers free breakfast at its rooftop which has great views of the Duomo and the city. The breakfast has some bread, hot coffee, hot chocolate, fruits -- enough to get you going for the morning. Don't expect eggs. We also got complimentary wifi via vouchers with codes. We found it a bit noisy at night, but if you had a long day of walking and such activities, you will probably be able to sleep through it all. Our room felt a bit cramped because we requested for a rollaway bed for our daughter to add to our room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't face the street.

Fantastic Location, Florence a must for any Italian traveller, however ask for insurance when paying for postage out of the post office behind hotel, they managed to steal my package being sent home. Lovely hotel, breakfast was ok nothing special and would be an idea not to sleep in as you are going to miss out on pastries. Beds were hard and pillows flat, we had a balcony which was ok but not furnished. Rooms of typical European standard small but comfortable. Hard to find the hop on hop off bus so beware the walk up to the Michelangelo Hill is quite a number of stairs. Great shopping.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your review, I am sorry for your package and hope that it did not spoil your holiday. The reason why our balconies are not furnished is because of security. Children could climb up a chair and fall. I hope you could enjoy our Panoramic Terrace on the sixth floor that is comfortable and equipped with table and chair where you can taste a glass of wine while admiring the view!
See you again in Florence
