We booked this hotel using points! Surprised! Nice place. Rooms were great, service exceptional! Well located but down more of a alley than a main street. Ok, it was very quiet. Elegant bar and garden. More adult than family centered. Nice selection of Restrauants near.

Our family of 4 stayed for 3 nights at the lovely Monna Lisa. A little bit of peace in a frantic city. The staff were friendly and helpful and rooms clean and comfortable. We loved have the breakfast in the garden. We didn't bother with wi-fi. The reception arranged a taxi for our transfer to the SMN station for the next 3 nights of our trip and were very efficient. The little touches I liked were the mosquito plugs in the rooms with instructions the lovely sweets on the hotel reception desk, delicious croissants and the waiter who sprayed the preying doves with a water spray if they came to close to the breakfast tables!

Room Tip: We were in rooms 26 & 27. There are no views from these but they are quiet, dark and cool.

This was my favorite hotel of my 2 week stay in Italy. It's very charming and beautifully decorated. The reception staff is friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, on a quiet street, and yet very accessible to all of the sites in Florence. The only negative is the cost for wi-fi - 15 Euros per 24 hours. I also didn't realize that there was breakfast available on site, so I cannot comment on that. I will definitely stay here again....and highly recommend it to friends.

Just returned from a wonderful 10 day trip to Italy, which included a 2 night stay at the Monna Lisa. I was hoping for an elegant, quiet hotel with lovely gardens, within walking distance to all major sights, and that is exactly what I found. The hotel is located on a very narrow, almost medieval street and is rather plain on the outside. It can be hard to find - look for several bright flags placed strategically above the entrance. However, once through the heavy double wooden doors, you enter into the world of a refined, antique filled former palazzo, with peaceful gardens that inspire a true Italian "old world" atmosphere. One can sit outside anytime (especially enjoyable for breakfast or evening drinks) and experience a peaceful serenity devoid of the hustle and bustle of downtown Florence just a few blocks away. Our twin room was located on the ground floor, facing the gardens. Both the room and bath were extremely generous, the largest and best on our trip. Very quiet and comfortable for sleeping - I especially enjoyed waking to the distant church bells and chirping birds that made me feel I was in one of the small hillside towns of Tuscany. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent in variety and quality - servers do take hot beverage orders. Staff is professional and very helpful in providing directions and dinner recommendations. Good shopping is nearby, little boutiques along the Borgo degli Albizi/Via del Corso, which we would take whenever walking to the city /tourist center. We also had an outstanding, gourmet style dinner at "Gaston", a small restaurant located about 5 mins away. My reasons for not awarding 5 stars is that internet service was not free, and our room airconditioner was not working properly. It didn't really matter, as it was cool enough to open the windows and simply close the heavy wooden shutters for sleeping at night. I reported it when checking out. For me staying here was very enjoyable, and I would definitely stay here again.

Three of us stayed for a week at the Monna Lisa and really loved it. A beautiful, traditional hotel in the centre of Florence, it is a real treasure where one can relax in delightful surroundings. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful, the rooms are both clean and comfortable and, overall, we very much enjoyed our stay.
The only two criticisms we had was the fact that due to Italian law, no tea or coffee making facilities are available in the rooms and the breakfast staff failed miserably to replenish the supply of fruit salad, ham or eggs after 9.30am, when breakfast is supposed to be served until 10am.
Special mention must be made of Vincenzo, the evening bar host, who was probably the best and most affable of the staff - his gin and tonics (with accompanying snacks) were historic and on our last morning he was helping out on breakfast duty, no doubt to remedy the only fault we could have with this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony - they're just beautiful
