Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Casci. Room 29 was great for four people, and the hospitality of the owners was wonderful. The hosts go out of their way to help in any way and they provide a nice breakfast. The hotel is located in a fairly central location close to the Duomo and the l'Academie with statue of David. Thanks for a great stay. We hope to return soon.

If you want the best value per euro, the best service, the perfect location, and the warmest welcome, stay at the Casci. This was one of the best places I've ever stayed (considering comfort, location, and service from the front desk staff), and when I consider value for the money, it is THE best place I've ever stayed.

Be aware that the Casci is not beautiful. You walk up a flight of concrete stairs (or take an industrial-looking elevator) to get to reception. (However, once there, you are well taken care of by a friendly and superbly competent staff who will provide the services associated with a 5 star hotel.) The rooms have formica-like "wood" wall paneling, but they are extremely clean and roomy. The bathrooms are also very large, and ours had a deep whirlpool tub. Mattress was very comfortable and in great condition. Breakfast is included with the room, and it was excellent.

Within a short walk to the Duomo and on a great street with many conveniences at your fingertips.

I loved this place. You can find a prettier room, but not a better hotel.

Room Tip: I had a room facing the street--Via Cavour--and was not bothered by any noise. Great black-out curtains and shutters as well. Pay cash and receive an extra savings.

This was the best possible location for our 2 nights in Florence. Carla and Paolo are so friendly and helpful. Every morning they greeted us at breakfast with unlimited cappuccino and a good assortment of food. They booked tours for us to see The David, and also a half day wine tasting and tour in Tuscany. All of the sites are within easy walking distance. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. It was nice to be able to take a quick break to drop off shopping bags, or freshen up in between visiting the sites of this fabulous city. We hope to be back one day, and will definitely stay at Hotel Casci again.

Room Tip: I'm not sure what the other rooms are like, but ours was extremely quiet.

We've just returned from a week in Italy that included 3 nights at Hotel Casci, a recommendation from a colleague. We were able to walk there from the main train station Santa Maria Novelli in just over 10 minutes with our luggage and there is a small lift to the hotel which is on the 2nd floor of the building. The location of the hotel is excellent - 2-3 minutes walk from both the Duomo and Accademia, a few minutes more to the Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi. The room was functional, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We were right at the back of the hotel and the room overlooked a central 'courtyard' - no view whatsoever but this did not bother us - it was quiet (apart from the heavy rain and thunder one night!) The staff were incredibly friendly - very helpful with any queries. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the staff were there to greet you and make coffee etc. They had also made reservations for the Uffizi and Accademia for us ahead of the visit which was great as we just had to turn up and collect our tickets. They kept our luggage for a few hours after we had checked out. Don't go expecting anything fancy but if you want a very convenient base at a reasonable price, I am not sure you could go wrong.

We loved our friendly stay with the great family contact at Casci. Interesting walk from the rail station through the markets, tourist information a few doors down and we walked to every tourist site. So convenient.
We had no trouble with the room size - we could open the window for fresh air, there was room to put all our gear and the bathroom was a normal en-suite size (Arkybergy - how many bathrooms in hotels have a window? virtually none that I know of). And the rooms were very clean.
Breakfast was fantastic - cereal, fresh fruit (whole & a new selection sliced every day), cheese, ham, boil your own eggs, bakery items, cake and coffee any way you liked.
Free Wi-fi plus a computer in the main area to use. Advice & maps. Even had our bags carried to our room.
Our daughters stayed the last couple of nights and we met some nice people at breakfast. We would recommend Casci to anyone about to visit Florence.

Room Tip: Have a look at the Casci web site and email them if you have any questions.
