We stumbled across this by chance and were unsure of what to expect. We had a wander downstairs and contemplating stopping and having a glass of wine and some cut meats, but decided to check out up stairs first....well, upstairs was amazing, with such a selection of different types of food and drink, I didn't know where to start! As it turned out we decided on a pizza, which was amazing. Would recommend a visit to anyone feeling a bit peckish, we will definitely return next time we are in Florence.

We went here to have dinner several times. WOW. Nice selection of places and good prices. There is a meat market and you choose your steak and they grill it for you as you like. YUMM

Not the best food market I have ever been to but would be happy to have it on my doorstep at home. The upstairs eating area seemed rather overpriced and touristy so didn’t stop to eat there.

Great shops for Italian herbs, fresh vegetables and local cheese.
Upstairs very nice food stations suitable for all day dining.

After just arriving from a long flight and train ride, our apartment rental was just around the corner from the Mercato Centrale where we went to get a bite to eat. SO much selection! Basically a food court, upscale. Gifts, artisan foods and beverages, and a lively atmosphere. Mostly we were looking for fresh and healthy eats - and we considered ourselves lucky to find an assortment of fresh vegetarian options and juices. Quick service so we could be on our way.

Great market for a variety of foods.Upstairs is a prepared food market and downstairs a farm/raw/ingredients market,Ate there 3 times in 3 days and bought food stuff one morning for cooking at our Air BnB. Fresh Chinese dumplings can be a good break from italian food.YUM!

Great place to wander around for the day.
Outside it's like a flea market with all different types of vendors selling all types of products especially leather goods. Do your homework on price and quality if your planning to buy.
Inside it's an old fashion market for all types of food including restaurants.

A must see in Firenze is mercato centrale. Foods of the region are delightfully displayed and sold at this important venue. A perfect site for finding foods to take back to friends across the Atlantic. Equally terrific spot for a meal, whether it be a stunning platter of salumi e formaggio, fresh baked pizza, or sushi (but to be clear, not of this region). Housed in an historic building with an exquisite patterned ceiling. Fantastico!

Stopped here not knowing what to expect. Found unbelievable open area food market with a whole bunch of unique dining options and plenty of wine and beer choices. Had a great mid-day snack and a couple beers. The place is surrounded by an outdoor shopping market of mostly leather and local souvenirs.
