We really enjoyed central market to see all various food produce on offer.
Beautiful fresh fish stalls with all types of fish and seafood.
We loved the smoked cured hams and salamis
So many cheeses , fresh breads, olives and other veggies, cakes, dried fruits and nuts, fresh butchered meats including tripe, offal and trotters? Olive oils, and truffles. Coffee stalls and seated restaurant.
Great sights and smells recommend a visit.
Outside the market so many leather good shops and market stalls.

Thank Gary W

Great area to get anything you want to eat! You can have pizza, pasta, sandwiches and other authentic Italian food at s reasonable price. You can buy wine by the bottle or glass. Lots of space to sit. Well worth a visit!!!

We went through not at lunch time, but the later afternoon. We did not get anything to eat, but they did have all kinds of things like fruit and vegetables, salami and cheese, mushrooms, olive oils on the bottom floor and on the top floor many restaurants. Then the entire market is surrounded by vendors as well. Definitely an interesting stop, wish I had gone here on our first days in Florence.

We had a fun lunch wandering around the market. We tried Trippa (a Florentine beef tripe dish) at a meat stall; and a truffle ravioli in pomodoro sauce at the pasta stall. Cheap & quick lunch (€5 for a plate of ravioli) without compromising on quality! We bought some truffle paste, balsamic vinegar etc. to take home but you can get similar products for about half the price in local supermarkets so I recommend this place for eating on the day rather than take home. Although, the one exception is the dried porcini mushrooms. Many stalls here vacuum pack them so excellent for travellers who want to buy these babies for home consumption! We came back to the fresh pasta stall the next day to try their gnocchi with porcini mushroom sauce, which was also very tasty.

Also worth trying the food court upstairs. It’s touristy but great atmosphere. The truffle stall does a great salad w a generous shaving of black truffles.

We came here for dinner, so we didn't see much of the actual market, since that had already closed. But the upper level has plenty to offer.

We had a lot of fun strolling around and picking all the food we wanted to try. All dishes lived up to our expectations :)
