This is a typical Tuscan trattoria with a simple, rustic premise that serves delicious local specialties. Bruschetta with tomatoes was very good - crispy bread with ripe, fresh tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil. Tagliatelle with a wild boar ragout was to die for: real generous portion with a serious amount of meat. My girlfriend ordered spaghetti carbonara - quite unusual choice when you are in Florence (since this is a Roman specialty) which was different from Roman variation but really delicious. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. I will definitely return to this place to try other house specialties.

The atmosphere is cozy, the service very good and the food fabulous and unique. Besides a very fair price. Can not say what we found more delicious, pasta with delicious sauces, tender meat, the wonderful cake with Mascarpone Cream ... I think it suffices to say that after having dinner in that restaurant, we returned it in three days following. Not found possible to find a restaurant so good for the price we paid.

We were lucky enough to be directed to this fabulous restaurant by Francesco at the Caffe Megara. We stopped in his bar after a terrible dinner at another restaurant. He was genuinly concerned a directed us to the Trattoria Da Guido. His sister, Elenora, and girlfriend both worked there. We decided to go the very next night. What a wonderful surprize! A lovely warm greeting at the door just started our perfect night there. The staff at this restaurant made us feel like family. An unrushed, relaxed and authntic dining experience. We had two glasses of white local wine with a plate of cheese, honey and pears. Lovely! We started our second courses with a bottle of Borghi Chianti. Wonderful. For our second course my husband got the lasagna and I got the cheese ravioli with truffle cream sauce. Delicious! Our main course was the Green peppercorn Filet and I had the Ossobucco. Dessert was the chocolate cake with marscapone. YUM! Followed up by the traditional lemoncello. The food and the service were impecable! They made us feel like family making sure at every turn we were happy and satisfied. It is a lovely restaurant with a helpful staff that will give you an authentic taste of Italy. Please don't pass up this hidden gem in the heart of Florence. It is an experience that shouldnt be missed.

Being a bit of a 'foodie' I was eager to try as many Tuscan dishes as possible on my trip. I couldn't help going back to this restaurant twice. Not only was it busy (a good sign) we had to wait for a seat. OK it was full of tourists. The service wasn't anything out of the ordinary but I came for the food... If you are wanting to try some amazing food and can't decide - go for one of the set banquets at the back of the menu - extremely good value.. It was definately a highlight of Florence and near the city centre...
