We stayed at this "luxury" hotel for 1 night because our reserved hotel room at the other side of the street was with a problem.
At palazzo Benci the bedroom was clean and confortable but small, good and clean toilet, fantastic breakfast in a luxurious surrounding.
But the staff were arrogant and had a "I'm superior than you" air.
It seems to be a very expensive hotel just because it offer an old lift and good breakfast

Rooms are terrible, provide one towel per person, very sparce bathroom amenities( one tiny sliver of soap for two people, charge for an xtra towel or pillow. Our stay was for two nights, and even that was to long. Come on...one soap the size of a silver dollar for two people for two nights!

About the only possible advantages to recommend this hotel are the location and the nice entrance lobby.
The rooms seem worn out, with mold spots in the corners of the shower, toilets that can't manage to flush everything until the fourth or fifth attempt, a staff that borders between indifference and cynicism, and even breakfast plates stuck together and with food stains.
After a couple days, one begins to wonder if the pit in the entrance hall is left from an old well, or destined to hold the next "guest" audacious enough to ask for an extra pillow or towel, which seems to pose an unbearable burden upon the staff.
Internet only worked the first day, after which it was impossible to connect, as though the WiFi had gotten tired out as well.
The furnishings seemed less than a typical Italian three star, and the rooms, though not small, lack any distinction except for stains on the carpeting.

This hotel isn't a 4- or 5-star by any means, but it is clean, close to the train and to all the main sites, and a decent price for what you get. The breakfast is excellent (more than just the typical European breakfast) and the rooms are bigger than most European-style rooms. The bathroom was clean. My only complaint is that the beds are hard, so if you have trouble sleeping, this might not be your best bet. If you are coming or going from the train, this hotel is an excellent choice; it is just a 4 minute walk from the station.

Fantastic location. You step out of the front door and straight into the Cappelle Medicee.
All major attractions, shops and eating places are within a short and easy walk. The amazing Central Market is around the corner together with hundreds market stalls around it. Staff are very helpful and polite. Buffet breakfast is more than satisfactory.
The hotel looks a little tired but no reason to complain yet. Very good value for money considering the location and the services offered.
