In October my daughter and I booked a three night stay at Il Falconiere Cooking School through International Kitchens. Our experience was beyond perfect from beginning to end. The property is exactly what you would dream of as you thought of a Tuscan vacation. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed walking around the property and taking in the picture perfect Tuscan views. We can't say enough about the staff and how they catered to us and our every need. We enjoyed our time at the beautiful spa, vineyard tour, wine tastings, and learning about the wines they produce there- which were excellent. Our package included two cooking lessons, all of our our meals, a tour of Cortona with lunch at a cafe there and full use of the property. Of course, the highlight of our trip was the cooking school and the food we both made and were served in the restaurant. Our lessons were incredible and so much fun. We learned a lot and have already made some of the dishes back home. We cooked with Richard and could not have asked for a better teacher.Every meal we ate at the restaurant was outstanding and the service was top of the line. We enjoyed watching a family of 6 sitting near us as three waiters lifted their silver plate covers off all of their plates all at the same time with precision. Our sommelier remembered our wine preferences and poured us the perfect glass every time. We were treated like royalty and shared that feeling with the other guests we talked to during our stay. International Kitchens were very helpful in helping us organize all of the details of our trip including transportation and arranging for a private tour and driver on our last day in Tuscany. If you are considering this hotel I would urge you to book it - you will be happy you did. We can't wait to return and bring the rest of our family with us. A dream of a vacation.

Room Tip: Rooms are either close to the restaurant or up a hill near the winery. Both have pools.

Everything about our stay was wonderful - the room, spa, wine, and breakfast. We would gladly return and stay here for a week. Can't recommend it enough. BUT This restaurant SHOULD NOT HAVE a Michelin star and we've eaten at multiple M-star restaurants. Our pasta arrived cold, the steak tartar was under seasoned and the service was less than stellar (other than the bread steward). The only thing that lived up to the Michelin Star was the stuffed zuchinni blossoms and sauce. We tried to get the waiter and the maitre d's attention, but they did not want to come over. It was like they knew the food was bad/that we were going to complain. Upon check out from the hotel, we complained and they seemed grateful but only because they could finally share feedback with the restaurant. NEVER AGAIN - I'd rather drive into Cortona or to Perugia for dinner.

Dear Nicholas
thanks so much for your review.
we are sorry that your holiday with us has been ruined by the experience at the restaurant, it will be my duty to ask our Maitre and chef to understand what happened...
we have our Michelin star since 2002, so a very long time, and believe me it is not easy... we have almost 2/3 mistery guest each year to verify the standard!
I wish to believe you have been only unlucky and that the kitchen had some problems that evening!
If you would be so kind to write me to marketing@ilfalconiere.com to let me know your private mail address, it will be my pleasure to write you again.
thanks for your kind words about the property, we really hope o welcome you again ina very next future!

best regards

The hotel is set on a hillside overlooking Tuscany in all its glory and action tothe beautiful hilltop town of Cortona.
The rooms are in various buildings and our room 38 was some walk up a hill and steps so beware. But the room was lovely and the views fantastic.
Service is excellent and the restaurant was perfect. 1 Michelin star well deserved. We had supper there for 3 nights. Not disappointed once.
The cooking school and Spa look good but had no time to enjoy. Definitely worth going out of your way for if you want peace!!

If you want to spend a time in a dream villa in tuscany with perfect wine, outstanding and personal attention to every detail ... go there.

If you wake up in the morning smell lavendle, thyme and rosmary bushes - get out and see this incredible light and then go for a perfect breakfast.... you are at this wonderful place.

The hostess takes every thing very personal and makes very sure you feel like a prince in tuscany from the cooking classes (just perfect blend between familiar and professional) to the wines and the food.

Thank you for your hospitality

Stayed 6 nights. Beautiful property. Cooking class with Silvia was a real treat. Restaurant is in a glamorous setting, the wine list contains many wines from the property which are of high quality. One guest has a wheat allergy and the restaurant was very accommodating. Outstanding breakfast buffet every morning. A bit of a hike to the room, but an amazing view on the way overlooking Cortona which is memorable. Did multiple wine tastings and a white truffle hunt in the area arranged by Alberto Martini "wine tours Cortona" and the property which were informative and great fun. Flew into Rome and the property arranged private transportation ( about a 2 hour drive) which was hassle free. A very fun and relaxing vacation!
