We ended up to this quiet and out-of-the-way place after walking along the coast
The menu is what kept us there: the pasta with shrimp and dried tomatoes was great, while their signature dish (carpaccio of tuna on a bed of integral black rice)
The wine they suggested was also very good
The owner/hosts were absolutely great, as we laughed throughout the evening

I had visited this bar / restaurant twice in the last year, as I liked their drinks. But it has changed A LOT - the drinks and the foo is just awful. The ingredients used both in cocktails and in the dishes are of poor quality (I suspect this is in order to keep the costs down).
The owner is still working along with his wife - very charming when you arrive, telling you all about their specialities (depending on what kind of customer you are, they will suggest a speciality drink or a dish). Seems like everything is the owner's speciality. I wish it was, but it is certainly not!

The food arrives lukewarm, with pasta being overcooked and everything tasting bland. At €12 - €18 a pop, the quality is just shocking. The starters / appetisers and sharing boards are badly overpriced and the quality of the ingredients just does not warrant the price.

Funnily enough, the owner swiftly disappears after he has sold his "specialities". The service after ordering is non-existent, and when you wish to speak to the owner you get told that he has left for the night.. Only to be seen working 30 min later.

Save yourself the hassle and disappointment, avoid!

Greeted by the owner who went to great efforts to up-sell the speciality drinks and specials of the day. We had drinks outside and then moved inside for food - note a strong smell of cat pee in the dining room. Foolishly we went along with the recommended specials. Food arrived after 20 mins or so: mackerel with strawberries and a balsamic reduction was literally just that. A combination that sounds impressive but tasted of very little. Grilled tuna with pistachio was basically a piece of tuna covered in green tahini paste (no taste of pistachio) - again pretty uninteresting and also arrived lukewarm. The third dish was pasta which was drenched in oil - the prawns in the dish were also minuscule and some were entirely uncooked. After we were served the food we didn't see the staff again, despite the fact there were only 3 other customers. Had to go into the kitchen to ask for the bill. Plates weren't cleared and no inquiries about how the food was. Also this was the MOST expensive place we ate in Syracuse. Don't believe the hype - this is a place that tries to appear experimental and exclusive, then serves up terrible food and provides no further service. AVOID.

Happened upon this pleasantly-situated, small restaurant while exploring the Giudecca. The owners are a charming, energetic couple kind enough to tolerate my really awful Italian. Basically, I had only to express my love of tuna to experience the best lunch I have had in Sicily. A medium-rare tuna steak on a bed of grilled tomatoes with pistachio cream ... yum! Bread was fresh and crusty. A full-bodied, organic nero d'avola. And for dessert, an irresistible ricotta mousse with chocolate sauce and chopped pistachios. (I wish I had another right now!) If I lived here, I'd be a regular for sure.

Wonderful dinner here with teenage daughter - strawberry prosecco aperetivos (they made daughter's non-alcoholic and she loved it so much she had two) then exquisite fresh grilled tuna with pistachio on tomato, pasta with sea urchin roe, and pesce crudo (raw fish) on black rice with zucchini. Great location overlooking the sea, very friendly propietors with excellent English. We would definitely come again!
