Beautiful room in a stylishly redecorated old town house - uniquely atmospheric, highly recommended B&B! Welcoming and friendly staff, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms redecorated with both attention to the old building's structures and with new ideas, like the huge bath tub in our room on the ground floor! Great location, too. We see no reason why we shouldn't be bcd next time we visit Palermo.

We work in fashion and film and were looking for somewhere to stay for our first time in palermo that was traditonal but tasteful and a little different. Alessandro and the rest of the staff are beyond helpful, welcoming and deliver impeccable service. My boyfriend arrived a day before me and they helped him arrange flowers and prosecco for my arrival. We stayed in the room behind the reception desk which was quiet and tastefully decorated. A large clawed free standing bath at the foot of the bed was the highlight and the four poster bed comfortable and romantic. Breakfast was a delight with fresh juicy fruit and pastries and the location of the hotel perfect for wandering to the street markets, restuarants and sights. It is a delight to have stayed there and would do so again in a heartbeat. Would highly recommend

Room Tip: Behind reception for romance

I stayed at this B&B having read the fabulous reviews, and I was not at all disappointed! I stayed in one of the apartments and it was extremely clean, spacious and modern - as was the rest of the B&B. The two owners are exceptionally helpful and kind, and the breakfast was delicious. Overall top quality customer service and great value for money. I will definitely be returning soon!

If you travel to Palermo you expect a vibrant mixture of Italian and Arabian influences. You expect exuberance in food, decoration, street life at night, hospitality and vintage style.

B&B Porta di Castro lives up to that expectation, hiding away in a quiet back alley but opening to a beautiful interior once you enter. You will want to hug the owner constantly for his help, his directions and pure friendliness. Everything is cared for, he can send you to the right markets, lovely small restaurants (ask for it directly, otherwise you might end up at the mainstream ones) and the beach.

This is a truly Sicilian experience, you pay the price with a bit of noise and a bit of bravery needed to find home at night after having dinner until 1am. Enjoying it was a whole lot better than we would ever expect. We felt 100% safe all the time, keeping a special place for Palermo and the hotel in our hearts.

WOW! I just want to say that I have never got such good service at a hotel before. The minute we walked in the door we were treated like we were Royal :-) Very helpful with how to get around the city, what to see and experience. Alessandro (the owner) even booked a dinner reservation for us, in a restaurant where only Sicilians go... I give this hotel my warmest recommandation!
