Slightly touristy but good amount of locals having lunch in this well established restaurant
Perfectly ok food.
Our experience was marred by the surly waiter who was very unsubtle about being tipped

Joseph, the waiter was very offended by the fact that I did not speak fluent Italian. He therefore dismissed any type of reasonable level of service (ie. no bread plate, no oil, no pepper, no napkin). Additionally, he then proceeded to never check back as to whether or not I had any questions or needed another glass of wine. Thus, I left halfway through the meal, paying my share, and would recommend that future patrons beware.

Ironically, I had dinner there three nights before and the service was quite good.

We were fooled by the charms of the square and the house, but unfortunately the food is impossible. We had rotten tomatoes (incredible...) and dried salad leaves on our plate. When we returned it, apatic staff was not even chocked, giving the impression that this happes often. Don't go, specially since this neighborhood is full of good options.

Menu is loaded with Sicilian dishes and judging by the amount of Italian being spoken by the customers, it's well liked. We had antipasto, Norma, a stuffed sardine dish, a salad, and an aubergine dish. All were first rate and setting was fun outside in the courtyard of a church. Service was quick and efficient, but not fawning. Very good value for money.

We had our first meal in Palermo here—focaccia and an arancina with some wine. This is a casual, order-from-the-counter restaurant in the heart of. the historic district. We ate in the late afternoon and were too full to have dinner. I give this place high marks for the quality of the food.
