This place was sparkling new! Rooms were very spacious and well appointed with a mini kitchen too. The bathroom was lovely with a powerful shower. Very clean. The only weird thing is that the only bed option was a sofa bed, it was moderately comfortable. This place certainly is very good value compared to other places in the area. If you want to stay in Aci Castello I’d definitely recommend this place!

Staff spoke perfect English. The receptionist (her name was Lou.. something long!.. sorry!) was super friendly with lots of advice about where to visit in Sicily. The aircon in the room broke and we were moved to an upgraded sea view room (which was super!!).

Breakfast a nice continental option with boiled eggs and croissants. Etc.

Beach not accessible from the hotel, but you can sit on the rocks or patio area and look out to sea.

Just up the road (on the other side) is the Sheraton. You can use the outdoor pool and beach access for 15 Euro if you like and buy a ticket for the hop on / hop off bus that will take you to into Catania. (Pay 5 Euro in the hotel and 10 on the bus).

Tip: DON’T get a taxi to Aci Castello from the airport - it’s quite far and cost me more than the hotel! 60 Euro!! Unfortunately being a lone woman at night I felt I didn’t want to get the bus on my own. Pre-book your transfer or if in the day, get the bus!

Get a sea view room with balcony!

We were there on a family emergency, the staff could not be more helpful, kind and considerate. The hotel is not overwhelming, very personable, very secure and comfortable, perfect for what we needed. Nice breakfast and beautiful patio area. Convenient kitchen in the room. Was only there one week, we left feeling like family with the staff. Our relatives are still there and are continued to be treated the same. A real gem of a place.

Room tip: Most rooms were the same sunny and beautiful ocean view

Some friends of mine were travelling from the US for a conference in the hotel next door to Zeus so my wife and I decided last minute to go with them. Everything was booked up in the hotels so we found Zeus. We were only staying a few nights and would be out exploring the towns or up the Beautiful Lady so for somewhere to sleep it was great.

We stayed in April (just forgot to review it) and I think we were the first guests to ever stay there. We had the place completely to ourselves and they were still finishing the outdoor communal areas. The breakfast was brought to our room every day as the dining room wasn't finished but the quality of things to eat was really nice and local. From what we could see it was going to be a really nice looking place with high end finishes going in. The room was comfortable, airco, futon bed, black out blinds, kitchen area etc. For a few days with two people its a really nice little self catering. You don't really get sea views except for up on the roof terrace as most of the buildings along the coast are built down and into the rock coast.

The area itself is a bit run down and not as friendly as other areas of Italy I have been to. We were there just before tourist season really started and it is a beautiful part of the world but you really have to have a reason to go there. Catania itself is a bit seedy no matter how beautiful mt Etna is. Not many people speak English and my usual attempts at Italian don't go down as well as in other parts. The staff at Zeus were friendly enough and we managed through everything with sign language and easy phrases!

If we ever go back to that part of the world we would go back to Zeus to see what its like. Definitely ticks all the boxes for a quick, cheap get away.

We have a nice stay in hotel Zeus, bad the whole area, as Catania also was very ugly. If you want to stay in Catania, this hotel is decent. But my proposal is to stay away from that city (Catania). Also if you want to eat something at night they don't have cuisine , so you have to fill your fridge the first day with snacks or sandwiches.
