Looked like a kind restaurant from the street, but they were not opened in time, food was totally tasteless, and the cooking smoke came out from the kitchen, covered the whole trattoria.

We went to this trattoria for a late dinner. There was no menu, but we have been informed what we can eat tonight. They speak only italian, but we understood each other using translator ;)
We had great seafood and very good local wine. The atmosphere was friendly.

Stayed just down the street and wandered in for dinner. What an awesome place! The food was outstanding and the friendly service was great. We ate pasta and mixed seafood. Everything was delicious!

We went back twice to this trattoria because we really liked it.
The place is now called Trattoria Via Pozzo Mulino (no longer “Il Principe”). The owner is most courteous and clearly takes pride in the restaurant’s quality traditional Sicilian cuisine. We tried the swordfish and aubergine pasta, the prawn and courgette pasta, and the mussels pasta (all delicious) as first courses. Then swordfish, tuna and frittura di pesce as mains, typically with a side of grilled vegetables and always very good. No written menu, but they tell you on the day what’s available. The selections are very reasonably priced and go well with the local wines (Catarratto and Nero d’Avola). Fine traditional desserts – all rounded off by limoncello and zibibbo with piparelle (traditional local liqueur and dipping biscuits similar to cantuccini). Stefano certainly sent us home happy.
