We had some problems finding the entrance, but when we got there we decided to tour the premises ourselves instead of waiting for a guide. We did see a lot of things, but information could have been better. Probably a guide would have given you more in this place.

This a spectacular monastery which is indeed luxury for a monastery, but also huge and and impressive. The visit to eve's is only 3€, and the guided tour is also inexpensive.

We took the private tour by Officine Culturali. The guide was extremely prepared and answered all our questions. The building is magnificent with an incredible story. Highly recommended

Visited this beautiful monastery today and had a great time. The tour is extremely well put together offering an excellent insight into the history of the monastery, the lives of the people that lived there, and how it has changed throughout the years and its different uses. For 7 euros, it was fantastic value, considering it lasts for around an hour. If anything, the tour could do with being longer to give you more chance to look around this incredible building. Containing a 12 meter high lava platform that part of it is built on, a small scientific museum, an Arabic influenced coffee house, stunning courtyards and cloisters, along with some incredible academic offices, and internal architecture, both modern and old, this place is well worth a visit

We could have spent all day wandering around the expansive buildings and grounds of the monastery, but instead spent almost two lovely hours. Terrific venue for photography and architecture lovers! There is an amazing library and wide interior marble steps that lead you to floors filled with classrooms still being used. At the center of the buildings are amazing gardens with tiled buildings highlighting the Mediterranean influence in this area. We also stumbled across an interior auditorium with beautiful tiled floors. We did a self-guided tour, but guided tours are available. Highly recommend a visit!
