The hotel is situated in a quiet surrounding on a big rock. The stony beach is good for swimming and snorkeling - not for playing. There are many steps to manage to reach the beach side. Small children will not be comfy at this rough beach. There are several terrasses with sunbeds. 2 small seawater-pools - the one downstairs is not inviting at all. 10 min by car from the Faro Hotel there are nice sand beaches with pine trees (spaggio mugoni). The hotel from outside and the reception look really nice. The cleaning team does its job perfectly.
Negative: The hotel proclams to be luxus class... but there are some items, which negotiates high level: my bedroom hat 2 really bad sagged mattresses - it is a shame! There are no glasses in the bath room only lite plastic, which are not stable to even put a tooth brush. My bathroom had a holder for the plastic cup other rooms do not! The rooms are very, very clairaudient. The almost worst: There are really dirty, splodgy long brownish carpets on the hallways. Take them out, immediateliy and it will look much friendlier and clean. I do't like plastic plants on the tables, there are only few freshly prepared dishes for breakfast (sometimes fruit salad). If you're unlucky there will be a wedding ceremony and you will be cut from the open space... and you will not sleep for hours.
Let's say it's a nice standard hotel which can do better.

Room Tip: check the quality of the mattrass first (Nrr. 164 was terrible)

Very nice hotel in Porte Conte, reasonably priced for the location.

We were upgraded to a sea view room - which was very nice of them. The room was very nice - but as it was closer to the bar/ restaurant area we found that it was quite noisy at 12pm when people started making their way back to their rooms.

The only real area of improvement needed would be the food - as there is only one restaurant on site - which has the same menu every night with the only highlight being the fresh fish they offer which can be grilled or baked.

The hotel is very old school - you never know what the final bill for food or drink is as you just sign the order with no prices - everything is very manual - so make sure you are keeping your own tab or get a print out from Reception.

Service was very good throughout - very small team and you will see the same faces from breakfast all the way through to dinner.

One bit of advice - as we don't drive - so relied on taxis - the flat rate to get anywhere was €30 - as the taxis have to come from Alghero - so even if you want to go dinner at at restaurant which is 5km away you will have to fork out €60+ on a round trip.

We booked a spa treatment alongside the free 1hr session we received through booking via their own website. Spa is of a good quality.

We also had a day when there were 100's of jellyfish on the coastline - so please look out before jumping in!

Overall our stay for 5 nights was very good , we went to relax and unwind and the location and hotel covered that.

Good hotel with good service, reasonable prices. Unbeliavable location and view.
The restaurant could be a little better, for the prices charged, but its nice anyway.
Would go back many times if visiting Alghero again.

Room Tip: Choose rooms with sea view.

This hotel has the view in Sardinia. as soon as we get there, we enjoy the view for hours. It has all preapared to enjoy life and relax at the door of the ocean.
Has a restaurant and a snack bar where you can taste really good fishes and prawns.
We did not like the room, a little bit noise.
And also the spa was completly full all the time.
