The climb is definitely worth it to walk around the top of the Palladio and see the many sides of Vicenza - just gorgeous. The building had a fascinating architecture exhibition when we visited, so clearly embraces innovative and interesting presentations. There is a roof top bar open in the evenings as well. Definitely worth a visit.

The "basilica" (not a church, in this case) also has a nice terrace with a great view over the old centre of Vicenza. The internal "salone superiore" can be devoted to some special exhibit with a separate ticket, but the staff may let you peek through the door to look at the impressive and unusual ceiling. The ticket booth only accepted cash (not sure if it is always the case).

This is a beautiful building that houses various gold jewellery shops and a market is held in the square surrounding. Worth going for a walk and a look

The Basilica Palladiana is a Renaissance building in the central Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza. It’s another Palladio wonder. The architecture is amazing. Enjoy a coffee or gelato in the Piazza and marvel then go inside and take a walk to the upper balconies and bar. Enjoy the vaulted colonnades and the view from the balcony lined with all the Romanesque statues is wonderful.

Among the dozens magnificent buildings strewn all over Vicenza by the Renaissance star architect Andrea Palladio, the Basilica is certainly the most stunning, with its loggias and marble statues. The adjacent Bissara tower (over 80 metres high) and the two St. Mark columns frame the unforgettable sight. Art exhibitions are regularly held inside. We were sad to have just missed a unique van Gogh show...
