This is one of those places that you feel you need to visit and should really but there is not a lot other than the museum and scaffolding works outside. It is of great archeological interest and is a great site, not for me, but up loads of people's streets.

Take the time to hike up the old stairs and tour the old Teatro, church chapel and museum. You have wonderful views of the city, lots of roman ruins of columns and arches , mosaics and frescos. Imagine what the city felt like in the first century with the arena on one end of the city and the Teatro on the other

Walked to the top of the hill and viewed this on the way down. Learned later from a tour guid the extraordinary story of finding the ruins under houses only fairly recently. Now used as a real theatre. Wish we had known and were able to book a show before we arrived in Verona!

Well worth a visit, a very interesting place. Quite a bit of climbling to get around. There is a church on the site which, although small, is a must see. It is on the Verona card so no further payment is required. If the first entrance you come to is closed keep walking with the river on your right and you will come to one that is open.

There is a lot more to this than it appears from the outside. The Theatre looks great and I am sure shows there would be fantastic. It is quite a climb up to the Museum but the views over Verona are great once you get there. I did find the Museum of moderate interest though. Plenty of Roman artefacts and some interesting information but for me it was not too stunning. No doubt if you were a dedicated Roman historian there would be plenty of interest.
