“A hidden gem of Verona - Definitely the place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2012

Just returned from 3 nights at the hotel - what an absolute delight. It is perfectly situated - only a minute from the Arena and the Piazza Bra and also all the other beautiful sights in Verona. The hotel is listed as 3 star but in my opinion should be at least 4 stars. The rooms were spacious and stylishly furnished and the shower room we had was huge!!! Rooms were kept spotless - sheets and towels were changed every day. The breakfast provided was plentiful and a plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and informative. Hotel also has free Wifi which is a bonus. In short if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Verona I would strongly recommend the Giulietta e Romeo Hotel, I will certainly be back

We stayed at the Hotel for one week. The service, amenities, quality of food and overall cleanliness of the Hotel could not be faulted. The Hotel is also located in the centre of the City which makes it a perfect base for sight seeing around Verona. We visit Verona on a regular basis and will definitely stay at the Hotel again.

An excellent 3 stars, very well located, a few steps from the Arena. A pre stay email was sent to me, telling how to reach the hotel. During check in, all the reservation data was reconfirmed (date of departure, rate, cost of parking). The parking service worked perfectly - available at the exact time. Very good breakfast. The room was prepared for the night, taking care to close the shutter of the window. The room was small with no view – this didn´t mean problem. The bathroom has a hydro massage bathtub and a walk in shower.

Very friendly staff (most of whom spoke English well). We were provided a complimentary upgrade at check-in and the room we stayed in (Romeo Residence) exceeded our expectations - clean, spacious, comortable bed. (Note: the upgraded room was actually adjacent to the hotel, so it was not served by wifi, but we could easily access wifi from the Hotel lounge/lobby. Their regular rooms all have wifi and you can connect multiple devices with no problems). Location is perfect to explore Verona from - it is right next to the Arena and central to everything. You can get to everything on foot, but the hotel has free bicycles that you can borrow, which we especially enjoyed. Breakfast was also good. Overall, a great experience and we would definitely return.

My family stayed at the Giulietta e Romeo Hotel in June. Overall, it was a good experience.

We booked the room based on the travel reviews and found that for the most part it met our needs and expectations. There were a couple of issues, however. Upon check-in we were advised that we had been moved to the apartment just a couple of buildings down the street. It was not a long walk so we were not bothered by the change. However, upon entering the room it was apparent it had not been aired out in some time and there was a strong musty odor. When we complained to the front desk they assured us it would be taken care of and that usually the room is opened up prior to guest stays. We decided to go onto our tour of the city and upon our return found the room to be fine. Once the air system had been run for a few hours, there were no problems and the room was actually very spacious and accomodating for our family of four. The fitness room is adequate.

The bathroom was clean and the room cleaning service each day was thorough.

Another issue with the room is that the internet does not work outside of the main buidling. So in order for us to be able to use our laptops we had to move to the hotel lobby. This was inconvenient on many occasions as I had some work that had to be completed and there was no where to set up in the lobby. One front desk clerk informed me to use the breakfast room as there would be no problem, however on day two of our stay, I was rudely informed by a different front desk attendant that I was not allowed in the room since it was set up for the next day's breakfast. When I explained I had no internet in my room since they moved us down the street and that I was using the room per suggestion of the prior night's front desk clerk, he allowed me to stay. Otherwise, we found the other front desk employees to be very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was good and had a large selection of foods such as fresh breads, juices, yogurts, fruits, cereals, boiled egggs, tomatoes, ham, and various cheeses. The breakfast staff also provided any type of coffee requested and were very friendly and courteous.

The location is the selling point for this hotel. It is convenient to nearly every attraction in the city. (We were booked during a live concert at the arena which was entertaining for us, but may have been a distraction to others as the hotel is located just behind the arena).

We were able to walk to all attractions and were happy with the selection of restaurants within a 10 minute walk of our hotel. Our favorite memory of the trip was a late afternoon walk across the Castelvecchio brige and then around the river. The city is breathtaking and it was a big plus for us that we were able to do all of it without using mass transportation.

Getting to the hotel was quite simple as by bus from the train station we were at the Piazza Bra (facing the arena and the hotel is located just behind the arena) within 3 stops, which was then followed by a brief walk to the hotel.

Room Tip: If taking the separate apartment, be sure to request that it be aired out prior to check in.
