“splendid location”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

Very nice location! Hotel is ok. Rooms are Ok
Breakfast is delicious, very much choice, good quality and fresh food.
Staff in the breakfast room is very friendly.

People at the reception were not so helpfull, couldn't give any information about the city or neighbourhood. Were not so friendly at all, sometimes even arrogant. They only spoke Italian and a few words of English, no other language.

If you don't need something from the reception, the hotel is splendid!

We wanted to like this hotel as we were planning to stay a couple of extra days in Verona and had a reservation here for the first night... Several things made us start looking for a new place as soon as we'd checked in:
1. The man at the front desk that 'greeted' us was so aloof and distant that it really started the whole stay off on the wrong foot.
2. The room was very dirty and dingy (it was a superior double) with a non-functioning window blind and one of the furnaces vent panels missing that exposed dirt/lint and who knows what else into our room.
3. Internet access: most hotels include this free; here it was very, very expensive and the signal was so weak you couldn't stay connected.
4. Proximity to McDonalds: it's literally right next door and there are always tons of kids hanging out in front (even in November when we were there)
5. Parking: we were directed to a public lot for 14 euro/day without in/out access
6. TV was very small, and mounted very high up on the wall; we didn't want it for TV, but to hook my phone in via HDMI (needless to say I couldn't do so at this hotel due to the fact there was no HDMI port and even if there had been one, the mounting position would have made it impossible - only room on the three week trip that I couldn't connect my phone to the display).

On the positive side, I thought the breakfast buffet was above average, lots of cakes/sweets, no real fruit, some cheap champagne, scrabled eggs, muffings, etc.

In summary, I'd say the hotel is past it's prime, living a little in the past, and holding on for summer when their location will allow them to fill up the place...

We ended up moving after the first night to Hotel Verona (about 100 meters down the street) which had clean, comfortable rooms, private parking, great internet service, and a very fresh breakfast with fresh fruit available. We were there in November, so we got the parking as well as a locked garage spot at no extra charge. The staff at Hotel Verona was very friendly and accommodating.

Hotel is located in the heart of Verona, which is almost close to everything. The bedroom was clean and romantic, but little small and not brighten enough. Also, there was a bad smell coming out of shower constantly!! :( There was no wi-fi connection into our room and I hope they will soon fix it!! The breakfast was good, but most of the meat products were made of pork and the drinks in the mini bar were a bit expensive. Regardless, the hotel personnel was very helpful and I would recommend you to visit this hotel.

The hotel is very near to the Arena and 10 minutes walk from main train station.
Pros: location, my room was very silent and large enough.
Cons: no free wifi, no Internet connection into the rooms. There are many broken accessories: windows, shower, wc fan (I travel with a screw driver for these "situations").
