We stayed for 3 nights at the end of May. With two teenagers the apartment seemed to make sense and we were very pleased we booked. We arrived at the hotel to be met by Marco and Valentina (lovely people and great welcome). Marco gave us a quick tour of Verona on the 5 minute walk to the apartment - he walks quickly and talks even faster - a lot of energy but super helpful.

The apartment is on the second floor lovely old building. You enter via big wooden gates into a central courtyard and have iron gates as a secondary level of security.

The apartment was perfect size for the four off us. Plenty of lounging space at the end of a days walking to tourist sites. Their is a lovely balcony off the lounge that overlooks the courtyard - lovely with the doors open and a breeze coming through.

The kitchen allowed for cold drinks in fridge (PAM supermarket was great and 5 minute walk away). Coffee machine worked well. We didn't cook in but everything there if that is your thing.

The bathroom was compact but served purpose - sometimes the temperature of shower was a bit hit and miss.

The second bedroom does have two single beds (almost camp style) and storage outside the room. It isn't the biggest but for crashing at the end of a day served our purposes - the kids slept well and didn't complain.

Main bedroom was good. Ticked all our boxes.

Overall. Met all our needs. Wasn't the fanciest 5* luxury but don't think it is selling itself as that. Met all our demands.

We used the whatsapp chat to the team at the hotel to try to book some restaurants - we always seemed to try to go to the place that was closed. Responses weren't always instant but we were on holiday and totally relaxed.

Good location to enjoy Verona. Close enough to the hustle and bustle without the noise!

Marco, the manager, and staff were welcoming and professional. The suite was fabulous only exceeded by the breakfast delivered in your room. The location was excellent - right by the Arena. We had only planned on staying one night but stayed two! WE will come back. We highly recommend this hotel.

We were almost stone throw away from the Arena and in the day time, we could hear the cheers from the tourists on the street but was so so quiet at night. Rooms were sizeable and breakfast (served in the room) was great with the right amount to choose from.

Room Tip: Upper floors if you are concern with the noise from the street (only in the daytime and very quiet at night).

Yes, we are just few steps from Arena and despite the lively city during the day with its noise, our Suite are very quiet.

I recently spent 11 days driving my new car through Northern Italy; Verona was my first stop, drove there straight from Munich. Escalus is on a typical, beautiful Centro Storico street, less than a block from the Roman Arena; you couldn't ask for a better location. Enter the unassuming door and be greeted by simply lovely, warm, welcoming people. The room was elegant, spacious, modern, quiet and luxurious. Quiet, despite the throngs in Verona that weekend. They made reservations for me both nights at restaurants they suggested, which were both excellent. A lovely, fresh breakfast served in your room, whenever requested.
One of the most lovely places I've ever stayed!

Dear Mr. Golomb,
all the staff thank you for your nice words and the exact description of Escalus.
The structure is located in the real historical centre of Verona, few steps from Arena and Piazza Erbe, main interesting point of the city.
Our Suites are bigger than the average of the rooms, and the look for details is what makes the difference from all other structures.
So is our delicious breakfast, served directly in the room at the desired time.
We are so glad you could appreciate all these things, and we look forward welcoming you again in beautiful Verona!
A warm greeting from all the Staff!

I actually booked this place at the last minute; Bologna was a bust.

I don’t believe I’ve ever been treated so well throughout a stay! The staff was exceptional from our first contact through the delivery of our car right to our front door. They were available 24/7 and replied promptly and courteously to all questions and requests. They took charge of our car and had our luggage delivered to our room. The room itself (apartment really) was very clean and well-stocked. The place was tastefully decorated. There is excellent WiFi, a washing machine, iron with board, and every pot, pan, and fish you could possibly ask for (not that we actually used any!). If I ever find myself in Varona (hopefully during opera season) I’m going to beg them to let me stay here!

Indeed we aim at making our Guests feel welcomed, positively surprised and "pampered" h24 and knowing that you appreciated it make us want to do better and better. You will not need to beg us, it will be a real pleasure to welcome you and your family again, maybe during the opera season.
