We just spent 5 nights in Venice at the beginning of July and enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. Room was really quiet, cool (it was HOT outside), clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in the rate and was OK. All major attractions are within walking distance. Staff was courteous and very helpful. We had no idea italians were so NICE; these people treated us very well. Only things which surprised us was the lack of ice machines but we managed to get enough ice from the bar to cool our drinks. Also, beds are a bit hard. Although a bit pricey, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

OK..here is the true scoop.....STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!...just back from 4 nites in Venice...yes, a little hard to find(see directions below), but the BEST location in a quiet area that is less than 5 minutes to BOTH Rialto bridge and St. Marks square(where you can also pick up the water "buses"(vaporetto)..the hotel has great air conditioning which is often not so great in Italy..the people at the front desk are very friendly and helpful!..the rooms are nice sized for Europe with a comfortable double bed and nice furnishings(safe,desk,chair,etc)...the bathroom is great with BOTH a shower and tub and plenty of room...breakfast is very good with a wide selection(eggs, croissant, fruit, yogurt,etc)....even though you are so close to everything, the hotel is very quiet...I will certainly return to this hotel on a next visit to Venice!!!
Directions:..from the train station take the # 2(less stops) vaporetto to Rialto stop(not Rialto mercato), from the airport, take the Alilugana boat(15 euro) and get off at Rialto...after you get off the ramp, go right and you will pass restaurant Omnibus and self service Rialto which is right next to the restaurant..make a left onto a small street right after the self service restaurant...you will pass a large hotel on the left and a small pizza joint on the right..go straight and the street ends in a little square..go left and travel about 25 yards and make a right onto a small street right in front of a Puma store...go straight down this street which will end at a Giorgio Armani store...make a right when you reach the store and go about 10 yards and make the FIRST right through a little archway and there is the hotel!!!..once you do this once, it is a breeze!...Enjoy this great city!

Room Tip: I think any room is fine!!

We arrived in our hotel after our flight from Paris and water taxi ride to discover at check in that we'd left our passports on the plane!! you hear about this and wonder how people can be so careless! The hotel manager went out of her way to assist in getting them back, staring by spending a considerable amount of time phone around and waiting on hold with Jetstar. My husband then caught ferry back to terminal and got passorts so happy ending. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable during our stay. The hotel was in an excellent location and was full of character. As you would expect rooms were not huge but all facilities were provided for and spotless. Highly recommend this hotel.

This was a christmas present so we had a long weekend in January, arrived Friday Lunchtime when it was misty and romantic, had sunshine all day on the Saturday, and Sunday was sunny too. The hotel is brilliantly located only 5 mins from St Marks and 7 minutes from the Rialto bridge, the furnishings in the hotel are top notch, and the bathroom was fabulous. The beds are large, and really comfy with extra pillows as required. TV is hidden behind a mirror - and there was cable.

Breakfast is the only meal, and was of a good standard, though it would have been nice to have had something other than toast or eggs that were hot. (Bacon, Sausages, Hash Browns, Pancakes?)

Staff are really helpful, and the hotel is a real find. January was a perfect time to visit with no real queues, and yet warm enough to walk around with your coat undone.

We spent the money on a gondola ride and chose one of the highly decorated "wedding" gondolas" it cost £110 for less than an hour - but he sang some opera to us, and wore the traditional striped shirt and the black pompom hat and was an 8th generation gondolier - well worth it making the trip perfect.

Went to a wonderful restaurant only a 5 minute walk away - so will reveiew that separately,
but it was the Bistrot de Venise, at Calle dei Fabbri 4685, fabulous fixed price menu for 3 courses with 3 addtiional amuse bouche courses.
